Got this from the blogosphere and thought it would be a good MyLot discussion. When you look under the hood of your car, what can you recognize? I can recognize: the battery and its cables and the two caps where you put in water; the radiator and its hoses and the radiator cap; the air filter; the carburator and its butterfly valve; the oil dipstick and the cover of the pipe to put oil in; the transmission fluid dipstick. That's all.

I would know quite a bit. I know the battery and its cables and the two caps where you put in water; the alternator and the starter, the radiator and its hoses and its shroud and the radiator cap; the air filter, the distributor, and the spark plugs. I know the oil dipstick and the cover of the pipe to put oil in; the transmission fluid dipstick, and the recepticle for windshield washing fluid. I know how to check to see if there is water in the oil, and how to get the car started if there is a vacuum leak by smoothering the air filter area. I can jack up a car and flip the tires and of course know how to check for the right air pressure and refill them. I think I know a lot of the basic stuff.

Wow, I think you do know a lot! I can't replace the tires -- it's one of the big reasons I'm glad I have sons. One additional things I know...to describe the weird sounds I might be hearing right away to hubby!

I could only recognize the battery and it's cables and the oil cover.
