Why does NBC keep messing with Medium's timeslot?

Why does NBC keep messing with Medium's timeslot? I just saw the lineup for NBC's fall lineup for 2007-2008 and once again they have move Medium. It started on Monday, then moved to Wednesday (starting in January) and now they have moved to Sunday, again starting in January, I believe against the Housewife. It is so stupid. This is such a good, creative show but will have a poor chance at best of surviving. I think NBC is smoking crack. They should move it back to Monday's.

I am not happy about that. Sunday is a bad day for me to watch tv. I don't know why but it seems that things always come up on Sunday and I end up missing my shows. I used to watch Crossing Jordan when it was on Monday's way back when. then they moved it to Sunday and I stopped watching it. It wasn't by choice, just that things come up and Sunday evening is busy or me. I don't want that to happen to Medium. I was actually glad when they moved Corssing Jordan to Wednesday right before Medium. I like it when my favorite shows are on the same night at different times. I always wonder what the studios are thinking when they move shows. I am sure they have their reasons, but it does drive me nuts.

I don't know if you heard, but unfortunately they have canceled Crossing Jordan. I hope that doesn't have to Medium next season. However, one less show for me to watch would be good because I already watch way to much ( at least that is what my husband says).

The networks seem to be messing with all the timeslots. Crossing Jordan used to be on Sunday and got moved to Wednesday before Medium. I do believe the reality shows have something to do with it. Survivor has always been on Thursday ending on a Sunday. They have never swayed from that in 14 seasons. But The Amazing Race has moved from Thursday to Sunday.
A network wants to place a possibly weak show right after a strong show in hopes that viewers will not change the channel and watch the newer or weaker show. I hate the fact that there are a ton of shows on Wednesday nights. I tape three shows on NBC while I watch 3 shows on the Canadian CTV channel. Sometimes there are three things on at the same time and wish I had TIVO so I wouldn't have to worry about it. Last week I tried to tape the three NBC shows and ended out with three different shows. I think when I keyed it into the VCR remoted I keyed in 08 instead of 18. Gggrrr! Missed that second half of the To Be Continued Medium.
I used to be able to say we'll catch it in the reruns but because of reality shows, there aren't many rerun seasons anymore. And some seasons are off balance starting in January instead of the usual September/October.
Seems I might be too addicted to television. LOL!

Crossing Jordan was moved to Wednesday to get more viewers. It was not doing well at all in the Sunday time slot. I don't think it was up against anything, just people didn't think about watching it. Sunday needs more good TV on, there is no good just sit and watch TV on Sundays anymore.

I believe they moved it from Monday to put Heroes on. I don't think they have the same audience. I don't mind the move back to Sundays as there is nothing on Sunday night that I watch. I just hope that if they move Medium and they keep Crossing Jordan, they keep them together. Without the both of them on Wednesday night there will not be anything on (unless they move L & O back to Wednesdays).

I can totally understand you frustration. I live in Australia and our Channel 10 did that here with the last two series of Charmed. The would even skip a couple of episodes in the middle. Why can't they just leave these shows in their original timeslot.
Fortunately they haven't messed around with Medium too much here. They've kept it the same night but moved it to a later timeslot. Most of the time I fall asleep, but I've learnt that I just tape it now and watch it later.

I hate it when they constantly change time slots as well. I know that they usually do it to compete with other strong shows, to boost a weak show or to help boost the ratings of the show they moved. It confuses the viewer and a lot of times instead of following the show to the new time slot, the show is just forgotten. I know I have done this with several shows (quit watching after the switched times). I have followed Medium from each move though. I didn't even realize it switched back to Sunday nights until I came on here. I guess, in a way, that is good for me because it was on at the same time as Lost. I always had to tape Medium while I watched Lost. The sad part is, I missed the season finale of Medium because Lost had already had theirs. I automatically thought Medium was over too. I was very sad I missed it.

I agree with you completely on the moving Medium fiasco.. I LOVE Medium and have watched it from the beginning (I even have a link to the real Allison Dubois' husbands blog).. I hate when they change nights and here in eastern Canada it and Criminal Minds, another one of my favorites, got moved to Sunday nights but Medium started at 7 PM and although I love the show I don't think it should be shown at that early in the evening when young children could be watching. Also Criminal Minds was showing at 8 PM which again was too early for a show with such graphic violence and adult content. Move it back where it belongs, on Monday nights after 8pm.
