Of course it is. The hospital wraps babies up as soon as they are born usually. The baby will feel safer if they are wrapped in something like that. I think they are warmer and safer feeling if they are wrapped like that.
Don't be afraid of anything happening to them as my girls slept with blankets on them and they are both healthy.

Oh yes its ok but only cover them to about the armpit area, leaving armas and face exposed. Its also good to swaddle them in a blaket rather than covering them. Both my boys used covers and they were fine. Just keep checking everyso often so he dosent get his face covered. Oh and he is so adorable!!

yes, of course it's safe. it's even recommended especially when ur baby s just a few days/weeks/months old. i did too w. my son when he was still very young and so vulnerable. funny thing is, when he was alrady a couple months old and up until now he hates blankets, haha! understandably, we have a warm climate here and even me an adult hates having blankets when i'm asleep. as for my son, even when he's fast asleep he readily senses it when he's being blanketed. and it's really funny how he he would whisk away the banket either by using his little hands (wyl his eyes are still closed, mind you, hehe)or he would literally kick the blanket away using his pair of legs, the scene sometimes makes me laugh. nowadays, he still hates blankets. but he still gets a nice sleep though.

rylan is precious! it's totally safe to "swaddle" your infant. if it's chilly in the house, you can wrap the baby just like they wrapped him in the hospital (swaddling, like the baby Jesus in the Christmas stories). all you have to pay attention to is if the blanket has anything that may get into the baby's mouth or nose, and how tight you wrap him. of course, don't cover the face. and don't cut off circulation. i think most infant's seem to appreciate the security of being wrapped gently while sleeping as opposed to being laid into a crib with no "closeness". if you don't feel confident, just call your baby's doctor's office and talk to him/her of one of the nurses. i'm sure they can talk you through it to your satisfaction. take care, and enjoy your amazing child!

I cover my daughter up but I tuck it all around her and only pull up a little over her tummy.
