I thought this was an interesting question that could generate alot of different thoughts on the issue. If Child Protection Services can take your children away if you harm them, why don't they take children away from racist parents? Are they not harming them? Is teaching hate a form of child abuse?

Who would get to decide what is "hate" and what is merely unpopular? If CPS could take away kids from parents in the Aryan Nations, how long before they start taking kids away from parents who are Boy Scout leaders?
Where would the "Racist" line be drawn? I've been called a "racist" simply because I didn't vote for Jesse Jackson in the 1984 elections.

I got this idea from that family who has those two little twin girls who formed a band called "prussian blue" named after one of the gases used in nazi concentration camps. They sing about white power and killing blacks and jews and other hateful garbage. Anyways there was a discussion on whether someone should save these girls from being further brainwashed. So, you have a point, once you take this step, what could come next, but like other laws there could be strict guidelines that would only apply to extreme cases. It could help get rid of alot of the problems we have with racism and crimes and tensions related to racism, plus help alot of people on waiting lists for adoption.

I guess there would be a lot of rap and old folk songs that would cause kids to be taken from parents too.
I know what you are saying, and yes it is sad to know parents are teaching hatred to their kids, but it's way too much authority to give to a department that skirts the U.S. Constitution all too often already.

I think that you have a good point, and I agree with you. Especially since I believe in free speech, the only situation that I would actually consider something this agressive would be if children were being encouraged to use violence toward a group of people by their guardians.
