I've seen many Indian (Hindi) films. the acttors are overdressed, overly made up, overweight and there's nothing but sining and dancing. that all come out of that movie mill somewhere in India and we see the same actors time and time again. The Indians must love it because they are huge fans. it tend to go for Indian 'Westerns'. By that I mean films by Satyajat Re. Some hilarious efforts out of Britain like "Baaji On the Beach" and "My Beautiful Landromat" win the day. But right now the films are cheaply made, with little plot at all and the sound quality and cinematics are dreadful. Many look like they were shot with a Super 8 and I bet some were. The sound is overmodulated and covered in reverb and echo effects. I don't want to sit through a movie where the actors sound like they are singing into kazoos run through effects machines. Meanwile I'll just watch the Satyajat(sp?) Re films. Like Groucho Marx said, "Include me out."

How many Ray's movies have you seen so far? Ray's movies are really good. Those depict the reality of the Indian life. See 'Ghare Baire', 'Chalchitra', Pather Panchali' etc. The transformation that is taking place in India is highly superficial. The country's economy is supposed to be based on agriculture, however, it is blindly running after industrialization. Whereby the pains of the less opportuned people will never go. And more and more dirty things will enter the society. Satyajit Ray wanted to show the very truth in different ways. Of course, I am just highlighting one side of Ray's efforts. Hewas versatile. You tell me something about his movies.
