not really.
if I remember right, over 50% consider themselves Christian when asked to identify their religion, but a lot of them don't actually beleive in it. in most cases it's a very watered down version, bordering on agnosticism.
they identify as Christian because that's what they've been mostly exposed to.
a bit like my stepdad describing himself as Catholic, even though he doesn't beleive in God or Jesus. still insists he's a Catholic. just a non-practicing one. hehe. people Identify with it because it was part of their upbringing, and may describe themself as it even if they are atheists.
in the part of the UK I come from, I would say that most of the people I have met are Pagan or Atheist, and outnumber Christians.

After more than 40 years when John Lennon announced that Christianity will not evolved anymore, then he was very wrong. Today, Christianity is still the dominant religion worldwide. I don't think atheism will take over the Christian faith, Christ promised Christians that He will be with them 'til the end of days... "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go (Christians) and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of age." -- Matthew 28:18-20. There are millions of people have turned to Christ because of Christians committed to this Great Commission of Christ!

aww, that is where u are wrong my friend. atheism and reasonable thinking have been growing at the fastest rate than any other "belief" in the world. this is due to educational advancments and higher and critical thinking. especially with books like "the end of faith" and "the god dellusion", atheism will surely be the majority, in the near future.

I'm beginning to think you're right, because I read a verse on that on Matthew 7:13-14, it says: "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction (eternal damnation), and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life (eternal life), and only a few find it."
Also in Revelation 20:7-10 it says: "When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the eart-- Gog and Magog-- to gather them (those who believe in him) for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city He loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

I do not believe in organized religion however, I am not an atheist. I believe in god and I always will. I believe that as long as there are people in this world, there will always be people of faith. You see, there are two kinds of people in this world: Those with faith, and those without faith. And that is what it comes down to.

i would say 4 types..
atheists, deists, agnostics, theists.
lol
and i believe that one day religion will fall to deists and atheists (and maybe agnostics)... if not, religion will be the downfall of man.
