Apple cider vinegar in a pet fountain?

I have heard that putting apple cider vinegar in a cat or dogs water will help get rid of fleas. Does anyone know if that trick would work with a pet fountain since the water gets filtered?

janet069 I always heard to put the vinegar in their bath. Dawn with vinegar is supposed to help kill the fleas. I don't think my dogs would drink water with vinegar in it.

janet069 I usually use front line but for small puppies, the Dawn with vinegar in it works well because they say the fleas are killed by the vinegar.
