Yesterday I put a few of my articles I hosted on my blog through a web publisher to see if they could get my stuff published. To my horror I found 1 stolen, 1 borrowed rather blantantly from under my nose! Here I was jumping mad cos one of my article was "borrowed" without even a courtesy call, but at least my name was named in the credit although I would appreciate a link back to my blog. Next thing I found out was another article was taken and put onto another site as promotion for some services a salon was selling. Not a word was changed, my name wasn't there and it blantantly claim it as its own creation posted this year when the article was written by me last year! The last piece of news I got was another one of my info piece was "borrowed" by a lady who claim that she s a culinary expert. She is selling her cooking classes at the expense of my article as one of the nice segment of info she provides her readers. But bless her soul, at least she has the decency to link the article back to my blog. This is the first time my articles are being manipulated like this, on one hand I am glad someone is actually reading my stuff but on the other hand I am still trying to stop swooning.

I have been writing from last two years and have been robbed more than 10 times, but now i always verify the person i am selling my articles to and also see if the person who wants me to write for his or her business has the good reputation or not! thank you very much for your post.

I'll take your advice on that. I just wish they would leave a nice comment if not a link. But I am probably asking too much from thieves!

You might want to try Helium or Associated Content. They are honest and I have never had anything like this happen to me there. There are plenty of fakes out there that will steal articles. I had that happen to me one time when I submitted an article to an individual who wanted travel articles. I later learned he was sell my article as his.

Helium doesn't allow freedom of choice of subject matter and AC doesn't take to non-americans. That's why I can't join either. However, I am not looking at payback, just a simple link back to my blog would be nice enough.
