do you wear helmet while riding a bike.Recent studies show that helmet will adversely affect your general awareness and impairs your hearing thereby renders a reduced road sense. That may increase the chances of accidents.I hate to wear a helmet,it causes hair fall heating up of the head.

I used to work on a neurosurgery postoperative unit as nurse. The truth is that while you can ride/drive safely, you can't control how others handle their vehicles. I saw a lot of head injuries leading to severe brain damage d/t riding a motorcycle or bicycle without a helmet. And I only saw the ones who lived long enough to get out of ICU. There's a reason ER nurses call motorcycles donorcycles.

You are right 6in12 but it may be somewhat specific to your country. But to generalise,to drive abiding the traffic rules is the best way to avoid accidents.

You still can't control others' driving, and some accidents are not anyone's "fault"; they just happen. What if someone pulls out in front of you, or impedes on your lane (my husband rides a motorcycle and apparently this happens frequently)? What if a drunk driver or someone not paying attention rams into you? It doesn't matter how careful YOU are, you can't control for others' mistakes.

There is no reliable information that I can find stating that a child's nervous system is in any way affected by a bike helmet. The only thing that might be affected is the child's ego, if anything is the same as when I was young and helmets were seen as very dorky and not cool.

wind problem can be avoided by using a face shield alone. But science has proved that a weight of just 20 grams on your head will affect your road sense adversely then needless to say about the half a kilo helmet.Try to avoid helmet

Hi friend!
Your question seems very silly. Though you dont like to wear a helment - it is a necessity. You have to save your own life! is it not??

I stopped wearing helmets when I turned 12 or so. I thought that at age 14, it's no longer required by law to wear a helmet. That might be a misconception, though.
Anyway, I don't wear a helmet when I bike, but I don't usually bike in the middle of busy or dangerous streets so I find there's not much to worry about. Helmets are so bulky and such a bother to wear.

very nice to hear that ;never use a helmet.I'm a member of the anti-helmet organisation here. Our organisation succeeded in forcing the government in lifting the compulsion in using helmet
