I went to the bank yesterday and took out 300.00 to do my food shopping and some other shopping- stopped at the dollar store and picked up a few things and I took out the envelope with the money in it and paid and left and went to another store. After leaving that store I went in my pocketbook to take out the envelope to stop for gas and it was gone... all my money..I'm not sure if someone took it out of my pocketbook or if it fell out- I always zip up my pocketbook so I don't know how it happened. Yesterday i thought i was gonna have a heartattack and now today I am so depressed - this has never happened to me before. Anyone have any good stories for me i need cheering up!!!!!!!

I am so sorry about what happened to you and your money. I have had something like this happen to me also and I sure know how it makes you feel. I left my purse at a rest stop once and when I realised it and went back there to get it, I found it and it was empty. someone stole my money and everything inside and just left my purse there. I never did get my stuff back. Someone called once and said they have my things but they never did return any of it to me. they got my social security card and all. Don't feel alone. I lost alot also and it is a sad feeling.

Oh wow - I'm so sorry- thats horrible- I am kind of glad thats all I lost- i thought my drivers license was in the envelope (cause you know you have to give the bank your drivers license and they put it in the envelope with the money) thankfully I took it out of the envelope. Thanks for the support.

Oh my - that's bad. I've had my car stolen before now, and my house has been broken into several times, but, as yet, I'm glad to say I've never lost cash like that - as I frantically knock on wood everywhere. Guess you must just be grateful that though you have lost money, you still have your health and strength (and a job!), and try to feel positive.

i am sorry to hear about what happen to you... i also just had a car accident about couple of weeks ago because of my husband's carelessness... and we have to pay $500 for the excess to fix the car because it is our fault... fortunately, it is a minor one and no one is injured... i am pissed as well at that time... very pissed in fact... we live on a very tight budget and we can't afford to waste money like that... anyway, i try to think positively... the most important thing is we are still alive and healthy and i believe everything happens to us for a purpose... God has a purpose for us for letting something happens to us and it usually make us a wiser and stronger person... cheer up and keep on praying... God Bless you...

Oh no I bet when you went to a store and you paid you left the envelope on the counter. I have done this before. And when I went into my purse like you it was gone so then I had to retrace my steps. So I went to last place and asked them if there was an envelope left and thank god they were honest people and I got it back. Im so sorry to hear this.

I am so sorry that you have had this happen to you. I have never had something like this happen to me. But I have been a manager of a gas station. Sveral times someone has accidently left their money behind. We would always put the money in the safe hoping that the customer would come back and get it. Did you go back to the store to see if you might have accidently left it there? Someone might have found it on the ground and turned it in as well. I have seen this happen before as well.

Well maybe it wound up helping some poor person that really needed it and your reward is yet to come. You can't dwell on it being gone. Dwell on how much it may have helped someone and pray for a windfall to help get you over the loss. May I suggest in the future you use a debit card and not try to carry so much cash that is just not safe anyway.
I wish you a speedy reward.

That stinks! I’ve never had anything like this happen before- and believe me I’m not near as careful as zipping up my purse- I’m surprised that I don’t get ripped off ever- Did you go back to the stores and look to see if your money was turned in? or perhaps laying in the parking lot? I’m sorry this happened! I know how it feels to lose money – it stinks- and then to have to take more out to pay for the stuff you need- I am very thankful for debit cards- without mine I’d be lost!

I don't know if you have children, but think about that it could have been a child which was lost. It's better to lose some money than someone you love, because money you can earn back but loved ones not.
Hope this will cheer you up.That's what i always do when something bad happens think about other people who has been trhough worser things.

Oh no! That is terrible, I have had this happen before, but I got lucky enough that somehow the envelope had slid down in the seat in my car. I retraced my steps, talked to the store manager of the store I had been in and everything. Finally, as a last ditch effort, I cleaned my car from top to bottom, trying not to just tear it apart. I got lucky, I am sorry, I wish you could be that lucky! Good luck, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

I have lost money before while I was shopping never that large of an amount but still it hurt none the less. It always makes one sad to lose something that you can't replace like that. I am sorry that you lost your money and I hope that you will be able to find it. I always try to remember that there is someone out there that has it worse then I do.

Oh my gosh that is just awful. I feel so sorry for you. I would just be sick. That is alot of money to have stolen or lost.
As far as ideas for cheering you up, is this your doggie in your atvar? Maybe he can give you a kiss/lick from us all. :-)
Have you looked everywhere and you are sure you don't have it someplace else in your purse, etc.??

i feel for you. i have lost money many times in the past. i have also been on the other end of lost money. i can tell you that if the money was marked, i would try to find the rightful owner, but if there is no trace, i thank the Lord for providing me with the unexpected funds. when i lose it, its gone. i never figure to see it again and just convince myself that someone who really needed it got it. it is only my fault when i lose something, no one elses. it was my carelessness or lack of attention that caused it. so i have no one to be mad at but myself, and i don't like being mad at me. good luck to you, and give your beautiful black lab a big rub behind the ears for me.

wow...that is just horrible. Did you call the store and ask them if they had found it? you may have just left it at the register. the way my mom always says is...someone must have needed it more than you. we had one of my husband's "friends" break into our house and steal stuff like a coin jar that had pennies in it, change from my 3yo's piggie bank...i mean how low can a person get when they steal from a baby...

that's bad. I really hope you tell the police and they will do something about it. I always use my card, never bring real money with me. my husband's card was compromised but the bank stopped it before they could take any money. can't believe what people will do these days for money sshheeeshh

That's awful! Sorry for what happened to you. I had a situation too. I was expecting a package by USPS and since it took about three weeks to come I called the company and they told me they delivered the package on April 20th. I asked the post office and they told me they put it in my front door since I wasn't in. I lost the package, I think somebody stole it from me and it was already paid for. What can I do now, I have to take the loss. Don't feel bad, we all have something to dwell on but God is very rewarding, He will provide you with something to offset the loss. The good thing is material things. I am grateful to God that I am healthy, and alive and I have a great family.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that this happened. I have also been one to lose money or have it stolen. I recently had the bank issue a bank check to pay the insurance for my grandfather in the wrong amount. It wiped out his small account and it was really a pain to get it rectified. I also had my credit card compromised - someone charged over $6000 on a first class plane ride from the U.S. to London and had a really, really, really good time in London on my card. That was pretty stressful. Hope some good luck will come your way to make amends for the pitfall.

Hi such things do happen sometimes, it has happened to me a few times, fortunately the amount was small. Usually, I will be frustrated and wondered why it should happen to me. My day will be spoiled. Until I met a friend of mine and this is what he said. “Thinking of your lost, will only make you miserable. He said that by losing the money, I have paid off some “karma” of mine; in fact losing that money is a blessing in disguise. This can be true if you believe in “karma”
