Do you take a nap during the day?

If your a stay at home person and your doing your thing when all of a sudden you feel like you could take a nap do you or do you try to fight it until bedtime?
I'm sitting here right now at 3:45 pm and fighting to keep my eyes open. Of course I didn't get much sleep last night and got up early for some reason so I probably can use the sleep but I have so many things that I want to do.
I think my mistake was having a late lunch. As soon as that was done I was looking at my couch and ready to grab my pillow...lol...
Does this ever happen to you? Do you just go with it and lay down for a short nap no matter what time of the day it is? Are you strong willed and try to fight the feeling off until bedtime?

Before I moved in with my partner I would always take a nap when I felt like it. It didn't really matter either way. But moving in with her changed everything. She has three children ranging from ages five to eight. There is no way that you can get a nap in when the children are home. She warned me about this so I am not complaining. I will drift off to sleep every once in a while while she is cooking dinner because she normally has the children busy doing something quietly.

There's definitely no way to get a nap with three kids running around is there? It was very nice of her to warn you so you would knew what to expect.

There are some days when it would be nice to take a nap. However, if I was to take one then I wouldn't be able to sleep that night. I will often go take a walk when I feel myself needing a nap. This helps me to get myself moving more so that I am more alert. Also my dogs find it beneficail so that I am not just wasting away time.

Having animals to tend to is a great way to keep from taking naps. If you feel like your winding down and might want one you can always take them out for a walk.

It really depends on whether or not my son is here with me. If he is and my husband is still sleeping (he works nights) then I will try to stay up. If my hubby is awake I will tell him watch our son for an hour or so while I catch a quick nap. If my son is at my mother's house or my sister' house, then I will just take a nap until I wake up on my own. I think naps are great. Little kids and elderly people get to take them every day. I personally think that everyone should take a short nap daily to help revive themselves. If you feel sleepy then you need to nap. I believe that our bodies know when we need sleep and that is why we get sleepy. Sleep when you are tired and wake when you aren't.

Your right, we have to go by what our bodies tell us and when they are tired we need to take at least a small nap.

Oh yeah, I definitely have a nap everyday while my daughter is in school. I couldn't make it to 2:30pm to go pick up my daughter if I didn't have a nap for a couple of hours. I'm NOT a morning person so getting up at 6:30am is hard for me. Once she's off on the bus, I sit back on the sofa and snooze. I'm looking forward to when she's out of school for the summer because then we can just sleep in for a couple of hours instead of getting up so early.

I dont try to fight with time much often. I like to go with the body,. If i get up early i get some sleep in afternoon after i have mmy dinner unless it mismatches my lecture and class timings! LoL.
I think that a small nap is friutful for everyone. Whether he may be young or old. If u give rest to your mind for a while then its nice. I have seen many people at airpost taking naps when they wait for the plane or just for any reason if they find time they tend to get some sleep, which is infact good, Try to take at least 6 hours sleep in 2 hours...
Have a nice day! err... nice sleep!
Bye

It seems when people are waiting for things like planes or buses they'll try to sneak in a nap to keep from being bored.

I will only take a nap during the day if i'm home and my son decides to take a nap but they don't usually last very long. I'm naturally a sleepy person and I feel like I could sleep all day if you let me.

When there are babies around it's always the best thing to nap when they are even though you feel like you could be doing other things....the nap is usually the best answer.

Yes I am a home person and I do take naps whenever I can. This energizes me. When I was working I take cat naps at lunch time. It was a regular thing for me and I automatically was sleepy at noontime.

Cat naps are the best things as far as I'm concerned. A small time of sleep can feel like hours to me and it's a great help in making me feel better to get on with my day.

i take a sleep as soon as i feel the need for it. i am suffering from insomnia and feeling sleepy is something that i must grab immediately as a go signal to have a good rest. it must feel good to be asleep right away when my back lies down in bed. i don't remember that this has ever happened to me at all.

I can't imagine being unable to sleep. I feel so sorry for you. Isn't there something that can be done?

If I have been up during the night because my son hasn't been well, or I haven't been able to get a good nights rest, then I do find myself dozing off now and then on the couch. If my son is ok playing with his toys or watching tele, I tell him that I'm going to shut my eyes for a wee bit and if he needs anything, just to wake me up. He usually lets me sleep for a little while before he wakes me for something though.

Isn't it great when the little ones will sit and play or watch tv while mommy gets a few winks? I think that's adorable.

If I am real tired and my son is taking a nap and I have the time to do so, I will nap w him. I ususally don't have the time and have a million things to catch up on.

Hi,ctrymuziklvr!
Sometimes I will take a nap at noon. But it depends on how late I went to bed last night.Yesterday I went to bed so late and the whole day today I'm so sleepy so that I decided to take a nap at noon. But I found it was hard to sleep well.My body felt relaxed but my brain kept on thinking. So finally I had to get up and forced myself to washing clothes.Arrgg, maybe it's too hot today in Tianjin.I cannot enjoy my nap at noon.

That is the only problem that I have when I'm going to nap. My brain/mind won't stop working! My body is exhausted but I can't stop thinking and end up getting up to do whatever it is that's on my mind at the moment. I also have a hard time sleeping when it's too hot.

Though I am now working a regular 9-5, when I was working from home or just plain out of work I would always snuggle up in bed and take a nap. I still do it on weekends when time allows, though that is not very often anymore, but when I can I do

If I'm doing the head neck bob or I can't keep my eyes open I go lay down. It's that simple :) Usually though it's around 1 or 2 pm but now and then it will hit me late in the day around 5 or 6. I like taking a nap and will when I can but there are days when it just doesn't happen even if I do need it. There are some days where I struggle with it until bedtime but then I will go to bed early for me (like 1am) instead of the normal 3 or 4.

I have a very irregular sleeping pattern, it isn't mild either, it goes to the extreme. I go through bouts of insomnia followed by bouts of hypersomnia. I am so knackered right now that I can barely focus yet I won't be able to sleep. I love napping, but I do it so rarely, its annoying. When I can sleep I like to nap at least once a day, maybe twice. I find it refreshes me.. but sometimes there is a danger I won't wake up for hours!

Hi
I used to take "power naps" during the day all the time. However, now I never seem to find the time. I do love taking naps though, and I think it is actually very beneficial for the body. If I ever do get down time, I do not try to fight it off... I just let it happen.
cheers
