Do you use wire or plastic hangers to hang your clothes? I use plastic. Please let me know your preference?

I use plastic hangers. I just like that they don't bend when you put something heavy on them. I also like that they don't rust.

Terri, I have both in my closet but prefer the plastic They do not make creases in pants. And they put a little more distance between the articles of clothing I hang up.

I have never really like wire hangers, they were always used for rabbit ears in my house! lol I do prefer the plastic hangers as they don't bend or twist when used, but I do sometimes have some that will break on me. Annoying, but they are pretty cheap to replace. :) Plus with the plastic ones there are no sharp edges for the kiddies to get hurt by.

I use plastic hangers. I like the way my pants hang on the plastic hangers because they are thicker they hold the pants better. I use them for my shirts also.

Before i use wire hangers with plastic covers because that's the trend before. But now that the plastic hangers are around and also they come into nice colors it's fun using them. Plus you won't get hurt with it. Unlike with the wire ones you can hurt yourself sometimes they have very sharp ends.

Yes, they do have sharp ends and could get hurt on them, there is one good use for them on the older cars you could get your car opened when you locked your keys in the car.

Most of my hangers are plastic hanger with different colors. They are lighter and handy, and look adorable as well. I use the wire hangers for heavier clothing like jeans and coat as they won’t bend easily.

I think overall plastic hangers won out in this discussion and other types were brought up as well such as wood for one, which I like hanging my coats on.

I do prefer plastic to the wire hangers - unless I am needing wire to untwist and use for something else (it is good to have some hangers that are wire hanging around) though, above plastic I prefer nice rounded and smooth wooden hangers. The look, the feel, the heft, the stability, the durability... to me a wooden hanger is top choice!

Yes, I agree wire hangers are good to have around the house to use for something else. I like the wooden hangers for my winter coats.

Hello,terri0824,i have both plastic and wire hangers in my wardrobe but i will only use the plastic ones because the wire one may damage to the clothes especially some of them are very delicated, also the plastic ones seem to be lasted longer than the wire ones, that is why i prefer to use the plastic ones.

ha, this discussion is still hanging on huh! I use plastic hangers for all the reasons above. I like to space out my clothes, they don't snag the clothes, they don't make as many wrinkles, and they usually don't put those sharp bumps in the shoulders of tops. I've started to use the clip pant hangers lately. For some reason, the stores have been offering them with the purchase and I couldn't pass that up. Very nice and take up less space...Whit

Hmmm is that a hint that you want me to bring you some plastic hangers? I will have to see if I have any extra, but I really don't think that I have any right now!

I HATE wire hangers! And it has nothing to do with that scene in that movie (jk). Wire hangers are the worst! The only time I have them around is when I have sent something to the cleaners. I prefer the thick plastic hangers like the ones in the stores that are notched on the tops and ends to help hold your garments in place. They are shaped better and they don't bend under the weight of heavier clothing. They are also quite convenient for certain hand washables and things you don't put in the dryer. I dislike the tubular plastic ones because I don't find them to be very sturdy and they aren't shaped well.

I recently actually bought some of the tubular plastic hangers with the notches on the tops like you described above. Thanks for responding.

I have both plastic and wire hangers. I use both of them to hang my cloths. I do not have any particular perferance in using the type of hangers. I have noticed about my hangers only when I saw your question about type of hangers I use.

We have both wire and plastic hangers. I prefer plastic ones because they do not leave rush marks on my clothes, but I cannot give my husband all the wire hangers because they bend under his pants, and so we will halve them. For the clothes we care about, we will use the plastic hangers, and the clothes we do not care about, we will use wire hangers. We really should get some of those skirt and pant hangers, but they are mostly made of steel.

I think I have seen plastic pant hangers that is one piece and can hang about 5 pairs on it. Would save space in the closet too!

i use both! I like plastic hangers more though because they are thicker and more durable. wire hangers are coated with an insulation so that they don't rust but somehow they are more flimsy. I have so many hangers at home but somehow they never seem enough. perhaps it's because i keep buying clothes!

I choose..... Neither!! I like my wooden hangers. They dont tend to break or bend a easily and therefore the clothes stay on longer without falling off or getting tangled. And because they don't get bent they stay at the same height which makes my wardrobe look neater!

I try to use wooden hangers as they are better for your clothes but the odd wire one is still lurking in my wardrobe along with a few plastic ones as well

I use both depends what I find in the house when I need them. Sometimes I have too many of those and sometimes I just can't find any so I just go to the closet of other people who live with me and I take those which they don't use, it doesn't really matter if it's plastic or wire one.

I think I must have too many clothes because I keep running out of my plastic ones and have to do the same and go into another person's closet to retrieve more plastic ones.
