What's your favorite thirst quencher?

It's summer and the weather is really warm. Do you notice how easily you get thirsty these days? Normally people bring along a bottle of mineral water to satisfy their thirst. Some, after a tiring game of badminton or basketball, prefer to drink gatorade. Me? I prefer a glass of Coke filled with ice. There's just something about it that satisfies my thirst. So what beverage refreshes you?

While I do agree that iced Coke do work wonderfully as an instant thirst quencher, it does not help much in really satisfying your thirst. In fact it makes you dehydrated and in need of more liquid. This, of course will make you drink more and more Coke (primarily because of its good taste) to a point where you get bloated and feel uneasiness in your stomach due to the high content of gas. In warm weather, a bottle of chilled mineral water will give you the refreshing feeling you need and the hydration your body needs. A glass of coconut juice would be a perfect switch.

yeh I agree soda does make you thirstier. I usually drink water, but it's very plain and boring so a real good thirst quencher is a real cold gatorade (or however u spell it). That really helps me out and it taste good too.

I really prefer an iced tea. A really refreshing drink during hot summer days. I like it compared to a soda/coke because it is not carbonated, and it goes straight when you drink it. My second choice would be a glass of lemonade with a few mint leaves in it. It is really refreshing. Plus, it's healthy too.

A syrup called Ruwaza mixed in icy cold water, it is sweet and really soothing. Let me tell you a small incident, I was standing at a bus halt at around 2 p.m. during summer time and as I could not resist the heat anymore, I bought a large icy cold mineral water bottle to drink. When I was about to drink, I saw a very old couple very weak trying to help each other. I went towards them and offered the water bottle and said please take this bottle of water and drink, its alright with me. The old gentleman looked at me with painful eyes and said thank you daughter. He immediately opened the bottle and give his wife to drink and she smiled and said May God bless you and thank you. My bus arrived and I had to live feeling good.

I love fruit flavored mineral water. It's got that nice little fizz and flavor without any calories or artificial ingredients.

I like having water, but I think that there are some good alternatives in the warm summer months to really quench my thirst. Drinks like lemonade and limeade do wonders for me; and when I work out I do have Gatorade or Powerade, something to that effect. Soda doesn't do the trick so well; it will usually make me more thirsty or the sugar will mess up my system in the heat. I try to drink things that are quenching without carbonation in the weather.

It's really hot right now where I live. Nothing can beat a glass of ice cold water. Sodas are good too, but I still feel thirsty after drinking one. I'd rather have gatorade. I love gatorade. We always have that in the refrigerator.

Water is probably the best thirst quencher, but it's so bland and not really fun to drink. I drink water when there's nothing else available. I prefer making iced lemon tea (by preparing regular hot tea and chilling them in the fridge, topped with lemon and ice and mixed with syrup) or Coke (canned Coke tastes better for some reason) with lots of ice. Sometimes I add lemon slices in my Coke too. It's heavenly.

Lemon in Coke? I should try that. Sounds refreshing!
