I have been using gel for years and would never go back to using paste.I always felt like the paste left a gritty taste in my mouth. What about you? Do you prefer the gel or the paste and what is about it that you like?

I guess I don't really care. I just use what happens to be on sale. :) I really like my Tom's of Maine gels though. Ever since I discovered that I could find them at BigLots for $2 a tube instead of almost $6 a tube at the store, I have been buying them there. So, we are using just gels now. I like them alot because they come in interesting flavors like fennel and ginger. Right now we have ApricotMango and CinnamonClove for the adults. We have non-flouride Grape for my son. He still tends to swallow his toothpaste so we buy non-flouride for him. His is a liquid gel. I don't know what the difference between a gel and a liquid gel is, they look the same.

To tell you the truth Sugar, I buy what ever is on sale. We don't do cheap toothpaste mind you but just what ever is on sale on the better toothpastes. It really does not make a difference to me, other than I dislike a very strong mint flavored toothpaste. I use a mouth wash to rinse my mouth out very well after I brush so that even if I am using the paste type that week, my mouth gets a good rinsing.

I really hate to use the paste one. Just like you I don't like the taste and the feelings it left in my mouth. I better go for a gel toothpaste. I love the fine taste it leaves in me.

probably gel. my mom used to get this stuff called "gleem" a long time ago that wasn't too bad though.wasn't as gritty as some of the pastes. i'm not sure if they still make it,but i think they do.

I'm sure I've used the gel at some point, or the intermixed kind, but I can't recall the last time. I actually like that grittiness of paste because it makes me think I am accomplishing something. I guess it is the same idea that if it is a vegetable and tastes bad, it must be really good for you.

I liked that analogy about the vegatables, lol but there is one thing i can say, whether people like gels or paste, they both are great at cleaning the teeth.

I have always loved Aim Toothpaste! My Gran bought it for me when I was little and I have loved it ever since. I sometimes have a hard time finding it. It leaves my mouth feeling fresh and smooth. Some of the pastes are ok, but generally gel is so much more pleasant.

Youre telling me,lol. I really hate the paste. If one store is out of the colgate total gel,I'll go to another ,that's how much I hate it. Have you tried checking the dollar stores for aim? Usually when I go ,they have it.not always but mostly

To be honest, I always look for the cheapest. Whatever toothpaste is on special, I buy. I am pretty sure that my kids prefer paste, so I buy this as a first preference.

You are not the only one that buys what 's cheapest. there are a few other resonders that have said the same. I usually buy my colgate total when it's on sale and use coupons.

I highly prefer the gel toothpaste over the regular paste. It's easier to wash out of your mouth - you don't have to keep putting water in your mouth to get it out! It feels smoother on my teeth, istead of abrasive. Plus the overall taste is ten time better than the regular paste. My favorite gel flavors are cinammon, citrus, or lemon zest. Wakes me up in the morning! : )

I'm with ya girly! I hate the gritty taste of the paste. I prefer colgate total but unfortunatley they don't come in different flavor gels.maybe if i keep nagging them lol

I use both and don't really have a problem with either. I do like the flavored kind better. I buy what is on sale and hopefully have coupons to use.

My brother is the same way. He doesn't like any particular brand, just what ever is on sale as long as it is a name brand.
