Okay, I have to admit I am looking for a couple "good jobs!" from myLotters here. I am so excited today, and feeling good! We got up this morning and were getting dressed and my hubby said "honey, I think you look thinner". I thought he was just trying to get some morning sugar so I gave him some smart remark, but he looked at me and said he was serious. So I went to the scale, which I don't like to do, but I started this "diet" a week ago (some of you may remember how crappy it was making me feel)and was curious. I lost 6 pounds this last week! And it wasn't hard! No soda, lots of water & green tea, small portions, minimal carbs and more physical activity which basically amounts to parking my car father away from wherever I'm going in the parking lot. (Spitfire if you see this...I'm dancing! Good pointer!)I haven't been starving by any means and I do seem to have more energy. So a word to all thos ewho need to lose a few pounds...if you make up your mind it can be done!

Excellent job, soccermom! Glad your plan is working for you! 6 pounds in a week is a lot and it's a great motivator! Maybe you should write a diet book for all of us, LOL. The Soccermom Diet Plan. I think there's a market out there for something like that....

Unfortunately I'd get sued for plagerism because I've been using a diet I found online! LOL I'm sure the majority of the 6 pounds is because my system flushed itself out, but I'm hoping I keep dropping the weight. I'd be happy to lose another 10-15 pounds.

Wow-- congrats! Not too much farther to go if I remember correctly. I can't get past the taste of green tea. I do drink lots of water- I've decided to try to lose 15-20 pounds too-- I'm not going to join any club- alot of my friends joined weight watchers recently. So I'm going to try your thing- smaller portions- less carbs- and way more exercise- which shouldn't be hard as it is getting nicer and nicer by the day! except today- 60 and chance of rain! again congrats to you and keep it up!

That is great. You must have a very sweet hubby also. Isn't it great to get compliments when no one is expecting something in return from you? I ahve been trying to lose weight also and I know how very hard it is to do. Six pounds in one week is awesome. I am trying very hard to watch what I eat. I don't drink a whole lot of water either, but I guess I should try to do that more. I am fairly active every day. The pounds just seem to want to stick around. I have a treadmill but I never make the time to get on it and it wears me out when I work all day around the house and in Mylot and other online activites. I would like to say, good job to you. I am excited for you and I cannot wait to lose some pounds myself. I bought a new bathing suit and I hope to look half way decent in it. I really want to be able to wear my old clothes this summer also. I will try to drink alot of water this week and see if that helps me too. I am already watching the amount of food I eat. good luck and I hope you continue to lose more weight.

Good for you! I know how excited you feel. I haven't weighed myself yet, but I know I had to atleast have lost 10-12 pounds these last 2 and a half weeks easily also. I also stopped drinking sodas and have been drinking nothing but water and eating small portions. You are so right, it can be done when you make up your mind. I started because I was tired of always feeling full and not healthy. I'm not even that much overweight but I wanted to start eating healthier to feel better about myself. I myself have not noticed that much of a difference just a little in my jeans that I wear, I went from a size 8-9 to a 7. Others around me have noticed and told me and asked me how did I lose weight so quickly. You don't have to starve yourself either like you said, just by eating healthier and drinking less sodas makes such a big difference.

Congrats!! That is so exciting!! I started the slim-fast diet a few weeks ago and cut out the soda's too (something I never thought I could do) and lost alot as well, I am about 6 pounds away from my goal!! It is exciting when you see the results in the scale, and your hubby noticing is GREAT!!! Keep it up and good luck!! I have my bad days where I get off track, but I just start over the next day and when I step on the scale my little set-backs aren't a big deal!!

Way to go soccormom! Losing weight is not an easy thing that is for sure. It is so true that the weight goes on much easier then ti comes off. I sure wish that were not true! I lost 20 pds a couple of months ago. I still have a long way to go and I am at a stand still. I am still eating healthy but I guess I have to do the thing I dont' want to do most and that is exercise! I have to face the facts. I have to move it to lose it!
Are there any other mylotters struggling to lose some pounds?

That is super! I've just started my own weight loss journey and hopefully it will go as well as yours. I'm trying to be more active. I've started stationary bicycle, and eating salads every day. I cut out the mayo and high fat dressings, and cheese. And, that seems to be working too. Plus, I don't drink much milk anymore: a big source of fat in my diet. I know from past experience that it takes about a year to see signifigant weight loss from any plan. So, I'm not sweating it. Best of luck with your journey too! And, congrats.

I agree with you because I did the same thing when I was gaining weight. First thing I gave up was soda, and in a tropical country like mine it's one difficult to give up especially during summer when temperature could rise up to 38C. Then I lessened my sugar and carbohydrate intakes. Definitely, lots of water and plain green tea. Indeed one could feel a lot better and energetic after getting rid of unwanted pounds. Congratulations, and keep up the good work!

Congratulation, You must act as if you are already the kind of person you want to be.
The real key to changing your self-image is to continually think of yourself as already being the kind of person you want to be. If you continually keep in your mind the picture of the way you want to be (for instance, a disciplined).
Best regards

I also have a good method: eating instant noodles. Last month I was less than 60 kg.
PS: I'm not a girl.
