I've been hearing that those are scams. I am not sure because I haven't ever received any e-mails like that in my inbox. My best guess would be to e-mail Yahoo about it and see what they have to say about it.

Well at least you played it smart. :) Really wish those types of e-mails would stop going around, cause you just never know when one of them are true, but you go and delete it anyway because you thought it to be a scam. It's a shame really. But well I think those sort of things you would receive something in the mail and maybe a phone call.

"Be afraid...be very afraid"!
I'm not familiar with Yahoo's specific offer, but I've seen numerous similar things. Mostly, I think these come from us signing up for information about "money-making-schemes". I know, because I've done quite a lot of that lately, and I've been getting these "free gift offers" too.
Watch out for the "requirements" Yahoo may want from you. Many times, these "free gifts" make you purchase something, or sign up for a monthly charge against your credit card for some thing or other.
Just look at it very closely! And, remember...
"If it sounds too good to be true, it very likely ISN'T true!
Good luck, and be careful!

oh aretha, this is a scam, trash it outright!! i keep on receiving such spams. you should enable spam guard on your email settings, you can even redirect the mail to scam@fraudinternational.com. just use little, brains, which i am sure you have in plenty, and trash it.
good luck!!

yeah i too got the same mail and when i tried to redeem that it asked for the premium membership. I think this is scam. First it was saying that get your free $500 then after it asked to take premium membership. Its better if you not tempt for this offer because there may be many hidden cost incurred if you go with this..

Wow-- Nope I've never heard of this- but wouldn't it be great if it was true- I'll keep my fingers crossed for you- I'd sit and look at your paypal account to see if they put it in. Did you have to give them your paypal account information. I'm not sure it would hurt to- I don't think they can do anything with just your paypal e-mail info. Just don't supply any other info to them.
Good luck!
