Okay as some of you know i was trying to get a dog but every effort has failed me. So about two weeks ago i was at work and one of our drivers came in and said that he had found something very interesting underneath one of our dumpsters.(I happen to work for a garbage company). So anyways we went out into what we call our shop and there on the table was a box of kittens. Four to be exact. There was an orange kitten, black and white kitten, white kitten, and grey kitten. Of course everyone was ooo and ahhhh. The one kitten that caught my attention was the orange one the second i got out there and tried to reach for her she hissed and tried to swat me. I laughed and picked her up anyway. So i petted the kitten and then put her back down and went back to work. I wasn't even thinking of taking one of them home.
Later on in the day we were watching them and found that the grey kitten was having difficultys and wasn't really moving at all. So we took him to the vet where we thought they would end up putting him down. But to our surprise they didn't and actually he is doing very well. So then the grey kitten was given away and the white one and the black and white one were given away. The only one left was the spit fire orange one lol. So i decided to take her. I ended up naming her Aprikat but pronounce apricot. When i first got her she was about 4 weeks old two weeks later she is happier and spunkier than ever. I love buying her toys and watching her sleep. She has this thing with sleeping on my neck. She loves to play and bite my hands as though they were her family. Anyway i just wanted to share this new addition to my family with everyone.

Congratulations! She is way cute. I will never understand how people can just, literally, throw away kittens and puppies in the garbage or rivers, etc. It is just so cruel when all you have to do is drop themoff at an animal shelter, where at least they will have a chance (and if not, at least they will be put down humanely). I'm very happy to hear that all the kittens found homes and that you finally found your pet. Maybe all your trouble with getting a dog was because you were meant to wait for this kitten!
Good Luck.

I don't know why it is, but the cats or dogs who are taken in as strays seem to make the best pets! Many people say we don't pick our pets, our pets pick us.
I had an orange tabby years ago and it not only seemed to have tricks up it's sleeve, but was the more intuitive cat I've ever owned. A friend of mine adoped an orange tabby kitten from the pound (her fourth cat) and it turned out to be the same way.
Congrats and I hope you and your kitty have many, many years together! Feel free to post it's antics and keep us up with the progression!

Oh my. What a freaking cutie she is. I am a huge animal lover and I just have to thank you for rescuing her. I can't wait to see more pictures of her as she grows. I am partial to orange kitties myself. Check out my profile and you will see I have an orange one name Trapper. WE had to trap him out in a huge field of cows and horses when he was about 8 weeks old. He is now about 4 and couldn't be happier and FATTER. LOL Yeahhh for you and congrats on your newest addition!!!

Oh yes, they do have a way of getting under your skin and working their way to your heart don't they? I am an easy mark when it comes to cats and kittens. I have rescued several from the street. They give me so much love, and i enjoy taking care of them.
