Can you eat that stuff by itself? My husband asked me to bring home icing and cake mix for him to bake up something this week. So I did. But I also bought an extra jar of Buttercream frosting and I have been sitting here picking at it . LOL Am I bad or what?? Anyone else have such a hugh sweet tooth that you can do this as well? OR am I just sick??? Man, I could eat sweets all day vs having regular food. My really good friend makes homemade fudge and oh my, it's delicious. Since I ran out of the fudge, I had to get some buttercream frosting to make up for it.
I know some people can't stand frosting at all. My whole time growing up, I rather eat the frosting and leave the cake alone. Anyone else like this??Am I making you hungry? Grab that spoon and enjoy the buttercream frosting with me.

I am getting taste for frosting now, thanks! j/k Oh, I can eat it by myself but wouldn't eat a whole can. I save what's left from frosting a cake and dig into when no one's around. A spoonful or two a day is enough for me. Now, where's that candy bar I bought the other day?

My daughter does that! I couldn't do it. While I have an incredible sweet tooth, I like to have something with the sweet that cuts it...I don't know what I am trying to say. I just know that plain frosting wouldn't work for me! My favorite frosting is the german chocolate frosting! YUM!!! But I do want it on a cupcake or cake or something!

Ohhh German Chocolate frosting and the cake itself is one of my favs.. I think I need to get that next week at the store. I love cupcakes so much that I even have a fragrance oil for candlemaking that smells like cupcakes. Is that not bad or what. LOL

I much prefer the actual cake to the icing. I am very picky with my icing and I really hate when the frosting is over powering. I don't want to eat sugar, I want to eat a topping for the cake.

I agree that they can be overpowerinig sometimes. As long as the cake is moist, I rather have that sometimes. But most of these cheap cakes out there that you buy are so dry that the frosting is so much better!

Well I have a blood sugar problem (low) so I'm really not allowed to eat too many sweets--now I've never just taken a container and eaten cake icing out of it by the spoonful..However!! Now and then I have been known to be a cake icing stealer and eat all the icing off a cake and just leave the cake part...LOL

I like cake frosting, but I can't say that I would go out and buy it just to eat. But if I was really wanting something sweet and that was all there was, I would eat it.

I used to buy a can of frosting every week just so I could eat it. So you are not the only one. I don't do as often anymore but every once in awhile I find myself dipping in the frosting can.lol. My favorite was the chocolate. Did you know that you can make fudge with that frosting? I got the recipe from another mylotter. All you need is a can of vanilla frosting and a jar of peanut butter. Warm them together on the stove but don't get it too hot. Then once fully mixed, put in a pan and put it in the fridge to cool for a few hours. I tried the chocolate frosting and it was good. I bet you could use any kind for different flavors.

Chocolate is yummy too and that is what I bought to go with the cake that hubby will make. I had no clue that I could make fudge with that frosting. Ok, now you have my ears wide open!!!! I will have to try that sometime, thanks for sharing.

I have to admit that I have eaten the frosting by itself, especially chocolate. It has been a while since I did this and it is not normal for me. But it goes back to that craving for chocolate that seems to surface every so often. You know, you might make a cake or cupcakes and not have to use the whole darn can of frosting. So, no big deal if you eat it right out of the container.

I can eat frosting all by itself too. While I really like cake too, there's something really nice about being able to just eat frosting. So sweet and creamy.... mmm.
Buttercream is a good flavor too! Now I really wish I had some frosting to eat, I'll have to buy some next time I go to the store. Since I don't have any today, I guess I'll have to settle for cookies and milk, which is also good.

LOL!.. anyway, i'm gonna get my spoon so that i could eat some buttercream frosting!

Yeah, I can tell I am on a sugar rush just from two spoonfuls. LOL yeah.. 10 year olds are hyper enough without the extra frosting to add to it. LOL

When I was little I used to pick the icing off cakes and save it until last! Now I'm not that fussed... in fact, we had a tub of buttercream icing at home and I only managed two tablespoons of it until I felt completely sick. I find this a bit odd given that I can eat a whole tub of Ben and Jerry's ice cream all to myself in a short space of time. I guess its because buttercream is a lot sweeter.

I do love frostings, but not so much..I like to taste the cake too while eating the icing.I bake a lot of cakes and I like the whipped cream frosting much better becausee of the smooth texture..But I love fudge too..I have looked up many recipes and even made some..I think I am going to make some tomorrow,my mouth is watering at the meare thought of it!:)I love sweets too.Since I am from India, there are certain sweets that I like very much but having lived outside India for the last 6 yrs,I have fallen in love with a lot of other desserts, the most notable being Tiramisu.I even made it twice or thrice. But yes, when I make cakes at home and have to decorate with buttercream icing(I usually make buttercream icing at home-have a fantastic recipe)I like to lick the spoons because the smell of all that butter and vanilla tempts me so much:)

Yes, this buttercream frosting is the whipped kind and wow, it goes down so smoothly. :) I can't wait to see what my scale says in the next few days. I may hate myself for eating it. I love Tiramisu as well.

Well, I have to say I am the opposite. For as long as I can remember, whenever I have cake, especially shop bought ones, I eat the cake and leave the icing. It actually works well here, because my 4 yr old loves to steal the icing of the cake, so this way, he doesn't have to!

I love cake frosting too. I probably like it so much because it's almost pure sugar. As a result, after I've consumed enough of it, I feel sick to my stomach. It's too tempting so I never keep it in the house. Like you, I'd rather eat the frosting than the cake and always wanted the rose.
