Swapping your House

I was watching a show the other night which was about swapping your house with a stranger in another country for a vacation. I just thought it was totally bizarre. Here was this family moving into someone elses house for 1 - 2 weeks, using everything and so forth. It was not something that I found appealing at all. Have you ever house swapped?

I've seen a similar show a while ago now. Its like going on holiday but instead of staying in a hotel, you stay at someone else's house with all their things in it! I don't think I could do it. Firstly, I don't really like to think that a total stranger is staying in my house without me. Secondly, I would feel very uncomfortable staying in a house with other people's things in it.

No way would i want to do this. I would not feel happy at all having a stranger alone in my house without me, i would be worried that they might either trash it, break things, go through my personal belongings, maybe even steal things that they think wouldn't be missed etc. Also, when going on holiday i wouldn't want to go somehwere that was someone elses house, full of their stuff. How would i know if their home was even clean before swapping? This idea is totally unappealing to me!

That is a cool idea. I would be afraid to get a dirty house. Then have to come home to my house being dirty! I just dont think I could do it!

Groucho Marx impersonator: "When we swap houses, do the wives stay inside?" ZING!
