How do you deal with your morning sickness? Is there anything you can do to help it out? My morning sickness has been excessive today. It seems to be worse when im working. Im wondering if there is anything i can do to keep it from being so bad. Any suggestions?

You just have to find what works for you. When I was pregnant with my third child the only thing that kept me from being sick was nacho cheese Doritos. Yes, I know that sound weird but they really worked. That is what I eat whenever I am nauseated now too. For you, it might be something you would never dream could settle your stomach. You just have to keep trying until you find the right thing. I feel so bad for you! It will all be worth it when you have a sweet little baby to hold.

Listed below are some useful tips and natural remedies that may be helpful for nausea. If one remedy doesn't work, experiment with another: • Practise deep breathing, meditation, and yoga and try to take an hour's walk in the fresh air every day. • A protein-rich snack eaten half an hour before you go to bed in the evening will help to ensure that your blood sugar level doesn't fall too low during the night. • Try to remember to get up slowly out of bed and take your time in the morning. You may find a teaspoon of cider vinegar in a cup of warm water helpful first thing. • An infusion of grated ginger root may bring relief if drunk while you are feeling nauseous. • Increase the iron-rich foods in your diet, such as beef, sardines, eggs, dried fruit and green leafy vegetables. • If you have no appetite, take 10-20g of vitamin B6 as a daily supplement. • Try an audio-therapy CD. Similar to those developed for travel-sickness, CDs are now available to ease the symptoms of morning sickness. Frequencies and pulses, disguised by music, interrupt signals from your brain to your gut telling your body to be sick. • Aromatherapy. Use essential oils of lavender, chamomile, and rose (either singly or combined) mixed with a base oil, as a massage oil. You can also put a drop or two of one of these on a tissue and carry it with you. Hope this helps:)

I didn't have this problem when I was pregnant. The doctors say the zinc may release this problem. And seafoods are full of zinc. I like seafoods so I had it a lot, especially I ate a lot of shrimps when I was pregnant. Perhaps this is why I won't vomit as well as other pregnant women? Here there is also a good snack can release this trouble. That is the ginger. Some pregnant women will eat a little bit ginger snack when they feel like throwing up. I hope my experience can help you.

I got morning sickness one time during my entire pregnancy. Not sure why. I just found that certain food smells made me queezy, like tomato paste, or Italian tomato paste, or pretty much anything tomato. So, I avoided that. Watch out for other smells like fabric softeners and perfumes and cleaning products. It's different for each woman. What makes you sick might not work for someone else. And, If you notice you have a sensitivity to a smell, don't ignore it or say that it doesn't mean anything. Just avoid it! I think that the sudden transition between sleeping and waking might disturb the baby or hormones or internal system in some way: that's why most women have the sickness in the morning. Course some get sick all day.

nmhschick, yes, I had it much worse when I was at work as well, I think it's because you are moving around alot more. It's not a good idea to move around right after you eat, because it be harder for your stomach to settle down, but that's not really feasible when you are working. I had an hour lunch, so I ate, then I put my feet up and tried to remain as still as I could, (you could go out to your car, and lay down if that helped) On the days I sat around after I ate, I was less likely to lose my lunch than the days where I walked around right after eating.

Thanks very much for the advice everyone. I know it will be very helpful. I have the wrist bands and they dont seem to help that much. And i have heard to stay away from the fumes of paints, any kind of chemicals, hair dyes, etc. So i make sure to avoid that. Its worse when im at work. I dont know if its because im up moving around or what.

There are a couple of remedies that worked for me...first of all: If you are taking pre-natal vitamins right now, you might want to switch to children's chewable vitamins (there is basically the same things in them in almost the same amounts if you take two a day). The second thing that worked for me was Ginger Snaps! I bought a box and just nibbled a cookie when I started feeling nauseous. It helped immensely! Another thing that might work is peppermint. If you can get tea, that will work..but candy canes work just as well. It helps settle the stomach. Hope one of these helps :)My mom gave me all this advice when I was pregnant with my kids. Each kid was different as far as my morning sickness went. You just have to keep trying different things. Make sure you are getting enough water so you don't get dehydrated. Also a cup of warm Jello tea might help. Mix two tablespoons jello powder (any flavor) into one cup boiling water until it dissolves. Drink at least one cup a day as symptoms occur. (It helps change the ph balance of the stomach so that whatever is making you sick cannot affect you at least as badly. Works for stomach flu too. Has no effect on baby, and is caffiene free :) (If that is a concern)
