i am not a christian. i feel that if the christian god were truly a loving god, he would not want his creations to burn in hell just for choosing the wrong belief system. but that's just my opinion. what do you think?

I think you got it all down. But, just because you do not beleive in Heaven and Hell dosn't mean you have to be Atheist. There ARE other relgions out there other than Christianity. Look into: Buddism,Paganism,Shamanism, ect. I hope you find what you are looking for!

Some beleive there is no need. Others beleive that God lyes within yourself. God is merly a transport to your true self. I just wanted the poster to be aware that there are other things out there. Christianity seems to be taking up the media at the moment.

excellent points. you're right about christianity being in the spotlight. but it's such a negative portrayal, i don't thinkthey're helping their cause any. but yes, there are amny, many other alternatives for a spiritual path.

I agree. Also, I see no evidence for a creator, so there is no reason for me to suspend all judgement and logic to believe in a vengefuil, hypocritical godhead.

Evil is "that which God does NOT will." It exists because God allows others wills than His own to exist. He made us free, because love given in freedom is the only kind worth having. And our freedom necessitates the possiblity of evil.

Athiest here and for pretty much the same reason you discussed, plus I dont think a real "God" would let innocent people suffer for no good reason like they are every day. Many of these people believe and have dedicated their life to God and look what he has done for them? Nothing.

You said the key word there. God made humans to be thinking beings capable of making their own choices.

The Christian God, gives you no choice. It's either Him, or hell. Come on, where is the choice in that. Good thing he dosnt exist in my mind.
