Yes, I wanna see which animal is the most ubiquitous in the inhabited area. Is it the dog? the cat? a bird? a fish? an insect? which one? If you have a pet , that can also be included..

Thus far, as I see it, dogs and cats seem to be the most ubiquitously noticed among all animals :)

What do you think makes cats and dogs popular pets?

Ours is a pet dog so it'd be logical that I say I often see a dog around us. However, birds really fly around our area all of the time - maybe because our area is full of trees and it's not that polluted yet. By this, I mean a lot birds of different kinds chirping around and I really love it that way.

I commonly see what we Filipinos call the 'maya' bird. This bird, a certain species of the sparrow family, used to be the Philippine national bird but was replaced by the Philippine eagle. The maya bird is about 1/3 of a foot in length, brown-colored and is found all over the country.

I don't have pets now but my grandparents used to have em in the backyard... cats for they catch the mice :) Monkeys also used to pay visit... There were a lot trees in the background, I used to watch frogs, lots of insects, birds-the parrots, the cuckoos, the crows, the sparrows . And I also used to see some snakes.. that was 10yrs back..Now sadly all the trees were cut down.. And then came the concrete forests... Now, I do see parrots, crows, pigeons, squirrels mostly.. That's coz now i live in an apartment with the tree coming upto my third floor window!

I live in an apartment with no pets. But everyday, I see at least half a dozen cats and several dogs around the apartment blocks where I live. I feed a number of these cats too 'cos they are like my pets.

I assume since you feed cats, whenever the cats spot you, they come to you..

Yes, these cats recognize me, and they will come running after me whenever they see me. I'm actually close to 3 or 4 of them. They can be very lovable.

Birds - mainly crows when you look up and dogs when you look down. But I think man is the most ubiquitous animal, you find them everywhere.

I should say this is a pretty typical "Urban-Indian" answer! I thought ahmedabad had its fair share of fauna... Perhaps next time you should look closer especially during the period around winter and try and notice the migrating birds from the polar regions!!! :)

I would have to say it is a toss up between dogs, birds and insect. Right now it would be insects. As the lovebugs are mating and are everywhere and in everything. You can't walk outside without a pair trying to land on you in flight while they are mating. The is an anuual thing. You would think whatever animal eats these bugs would be in heaven about now. They wouldn't have to hunt for their food because it would be right there in front of them. When the love bug is gone that it will be a toss up between dogs (owned and strays) and birds. i see birds all the time and hear them squawking. We have an over abundant of dogs in my area as well. That people can't sell them or find homes. So them dump them loose in the city.

I can see lots of cats and birds around the area where I live. There are not many dogs or other kind of animals. There is also a family of squirrel here. Apart from that, no other animals present.
