If you have any good recipes with lentils and chickpeas, not together, please let me have them. Preferably vegetarian recipes. Bring them on!

I love to eat them plain... Chickpeas work well in salads because they hold their shape. Mix with your favorite veggies, and voila. Lentils and rice is an old standby, and of course lentils work really well in soups and stews. I like them in various Indian dishes as well.

Dahl--both of these recipes are really good, but a little different. you can also add a bit more water to make a yummy dahl soup! if you haven't had dahl soup yet, I definitely recommend it, with a nice hearty crusty bread. http://www.fatfree.com/recipes/indian/dhal http://www.fatfree.com/recipes/indian/dhal-4 Chole (chickpea curry) http://indianfood.about.com/od/vegetarianrecipes/r/chole.htm?p=1 Tomato Dahl http://www.fatfree.com/recipes/indian/easy-tomato-daal Chickpea Potato Curry (I modify this to cook on the stove, just cook the potatoes in a pot, drain the water, then add all of the ingredients in the same order. Cook until tender/mushy.) http://www.fatfree.com/recipes/indian/chickpea-potato-dinner Crunchy Baked Chickpea Snack http://srefoodblog.blogspot.com/2006/08/oven-baked-chickpeas.html Enjoy! I have a big can or dried lentils. I cooked them up once and made a lentil ham soup. It was really good but took hours to cook. I think next time I make it I will just break out the trusty crock pot and let it do all the work. I just threw in lentils, water, and diced ham left over from a ham dinner we had. Cooked for like 2 hours, but I wanted it mushy like a split pea soup. Serves great with rolls or toast.
