baby oil is really bad to use on your skin when trying to get a tan you will just end up burning. i never sunbathe its really bad and causes premuture aging of the skin and even worse skin cancer. instead i use fake tan lotions the one i like best are the ones that build up a nice natural looking tan gradualy like dove or johnsons holiday skin. they are not expencive to buy.this is a far better option than causing long term damage to your skin by sunbathing.

You are so right! 90% of the signs of aging in our skin are due to SUN DAMAGE! That's right! 90% of the causes of wrinkles, lost of elasticity, sun spots (sometimes called "liver" spots) are caused from the SUN!

The type of lotion you use should depends on your skin, and whether or not you tan, or burn. You should use at least some sunblock to protect your skin from excessive UV rays.

One of my friends teenager got badly burned from baby oil. The is absolutely no sunscreen and it is not pure oil. I used to get my best tans from cocoa butter. Now I use coppertone dark tanning lotion. It cost $7.00 but lasts forever.

I use olive cooking oil, baby oil will also do I think, but seeing that ordinary olive oil works, maybe sunflower cooking oil will work as well, ask a roasted chicken he will tell you! Lol!!!!

I do not really know because I don't like tanning at all. Just going outside is tanning enough for me.

I don't think baby oil gives you any protection from the sun, so no I wouldn't recommend that. I just use whatever I can get my hans on, I don't have a specific brand that I buy every year.

baby oil is NOT GOOD! it will encourage your skin to BURN. I used to use it when I was younger (and am now allergic to it) and thank GOD I don't have skin cancer now! I use Coppertone Sport. Generally, if I am outside, I am either playing sports, or working on the farm. Coppertone Sport is sweatproof and water proof so it won't run off if I get sweaty, and I maintain coverage and protection from the sun.

Hi, I'd advise you to use something intended for sun protection, it does depend on your skin however if you can't go to a dermatologist to ask what would be the best for your skin, try a brand like Nivea. Lower protections aren't to good but it is way better then baby oil, if you use a low protection on your body use a higher one on your face, as your face is very sensitive. Baby oil and other oils with no sun protection in then are like setting your skin up for a roast, it just cooks your skin and can be very harmful, you might not notice it now but in a few years time you might regret not using any form of UV protection or trying to fry yourself with normal oils.
