I think you can be happy without money. I know I have been. There are rich people that can also be unhappy. I think it is the way you look at things.

yes, dont you agree that happiness is a part of living. when you live in bad condition you cannot be happy, so to live in good condition you need money, indirectly money is one of the important factor that makes a person happy.

money adn happines so different, i have experience with money. when i child, i am very happy even i have few of money, but when i have more money. i loss my happiness , because i afraid if i loss my money, and i afraid about the future, and i worry that the other people will steal my money. so i think that we must change our view, money is so important, but money can't buy everything. don't become the slave of your money. thank you

i agree with you, money cant buy everything. but my point is money can bring happiness.. without money happiness can be lost. for example: i would be happy if i put my son to a good school...for which i need money. i will be happy if my mother gets operated for cancer if i had money to do so..... i will be happy if I have a house of my own, for which i need money.

People need a certain amount of money to gain and maintain happiness. I think it's true that happiness can fade away without money. But it is not that the more money the happier.

I agree with you man on this... Money and happiness does not go hand in hand....Money cannot buy peace and happiness...it is upto you whether you want to be happy or not... I have always seen people running after money as if this is the last thing that is left on earth.. there are some things which are above money...these are parents,relationships... But now-a-days...no one bothers about anything..the only thing that everyone want is money and that too at any cost...well i think it good to be crazy about money but only to a certain extent... I think what people miss out is their family, giving time to loved ones..they are so busy making money they never realize that these momenst won't come agian... The flow of money will never stop in your life...but there is an end to all the other things that are very close to you... The more you earn the more you want...there is a good saying that "Need can be satisfied..Greed cannot"..it is really true...

In Singapore we have quite a study into the relationship between material goodies and happiness. On one hand we have the Chinese who are exceedingly hardworking. They push their kids into getting into the best schools in the world and not surprisingly the Chinese tend to rise up the professional ladder and become exceedingly wealthy. On the other hand we have the Malay Community. While the Malays are Muslims by religion, they are more inline with the Polynisians, Philipinos and Latinos than with the Arabs. The Malay community lives on a happy go lucky mode (I know this is stereotyping but one that's generally true), and unlike the Chinese don't push to be at the top of the social heap. The Chinese tend to get snooty about the Malays. It's not uncommon to hear a few mutterings from the Chinese about how the Malays are lazy and not making it matterially. However, when you look at the way things are, the Malays always seem more contented. As the Chinese rush around like rabits on speed up the corporate ladder, work outrageuosly long hours, the Malays are enjoying valuable time with their families. Although the average Malay earns alot less than the average Chinese, a Malay family is always well fed and taken care of. So, while money is important and having professional success is good, there are other things that have a bigger say on what makes our souls more content.

Maybe to some people that is the case but not to everyone. I can live just fine with little or no money at all.

I do wish that sometimes because I wouldn't have to work so hard to get it. But, as you know no such place exists.

Money creates more problems than really bringing any happiness to a person. Sure at the moment when you have that money in your hands you can feel a sort of happiness, but once that money is gone the happy feeling goes with it. Happiness like love can't be bought, or sold in stores. Happiness is something you find within yourself, not in material things.

Money is only a tool. You could have all the money in the world and be miserable simply because that is your nature. Conversely you can be poor but if you have always been poor you don't miss money. The answer to this comes in how you define happiness. There have been men and women I am sure that have gained fortunes only to loose it all with a bad gamble. But for these people having all that money and loosing it is just one more step in the process of life. If we are not happy within ourselves and are not self directed it will make no difference what money you have. True happiness comes from within. And no matter your financial status you will be happy. Donald Trump has won and lost many fortunes. Been very rich and very broke but I doubt he would ever tell you he was unhappy. Except in his relationships perhaps but that was temporary also.
