I use electric now. I have used both in the past. I prefer GAS. It is so much easier to control the flame for just the right heat. With electric you just don't seem to get that control. It is easier to burn things with electric. I think with electric you have to set it lower than you would for gas.

I prefer gas than electric it's so much easier. Although I only have an electric stove at the moment as I brought it some years ago when I could only get electric where I lived. When this one packs up I'll definately be going for gas!

I have both. In my main kitchen I have gas and in my small basement kitchen I have electric. My basement kitchen is used as my coffee kitchen and summer kitchen, when is to hot.
I like electric better, but in my basement kitchen I don't have much countertop space to cook....

I cook on an electric stove. I have tried a gas one a long time ago. I really didn't like cooking with gas. One advantage gas has over electric is when the lights go out, you can still cook. But, at least we don't have a gas smell in the house. I just think gas is too dangerous. Growing up with gas, I singed many a hair on my arm trying to light the pilot light. Not worth it to me!

I don't really think one is easier than the other. I've only used an electric stove for about a year in college, though.
My husband swears that if we buy the house we are leaning toward, the first thing he is going to do is buy a gas stove for it, though. He doesn't like electric at all.
The one thing I do like about gas stoves is that they cool so much faster. We usually just leave the stuff on the stove, even after it's turned off, and we don't have to worry about it overcooking. With an electric stove, some stuff overcooks if you do that.

I prefer electric, I used a gas stove for a few years and didn't really like it. I like the consistency of an electril stove! It is just alot easier for me, and I dodn't have to worry about anything catching on fire. =)

well, we have a gas stove who is capable of both electric and gas. We always use the gas since using electric is very pricey. The bill will get really high, as high as mount everest ha ha! if ever we will use electric stove in our day to day lives. Gas is a little bit savvy than the electric right? so we prefer that one. And we get used to it so no problems at all. :P

I grew up using a gas stove. When I moved to my new home it was set up for an electric stove. I have to say that I never really thought that there was a difference. I found that it was harder for me to use an electric stove instead of a gas. It took me a while to get use to it. Now I couldn't imagine going back to a gas stove. I wouldn't really say that one is easier then the other. It has more to do with what you are use to.

for me easier is not the issue , the thing i would like to opt any one of the two is which will be cheaper for me in long run. electricity is so costly, that if i start making everything on electric , it will be very costly to me. rather me and my hubby would prefer going out and have something. gas is much much cheap as compared to electric, so according to our budget, i would opt the gas.

In our house we cook on electric. In our camper we cook on gas. I think I prefer electric, but my husband prefers gas. I can cook on either. Heck I can cook over the wood fire. As long as there is heat I will cook.

I use electric rice maker to make the rice. Besides it, other foods are cooked by gas. They are both convenient, but it seems gas is a little bit expensive than electricity here.
