I have smelly feet, help! I dont have athlete's foot or something like that but sometimes when i take off my socks, my feet smells bad. Probably because i wear closed shoes almost 5 days a week. What can i do to prevent or cure this? Sometimes, when i go to a friend's house and have to take off my shoes, i am afraid that someone might smell my feet and get disgusted.

Guess what you are not the only one. I have very stinky feet. One thing is change shoes, have more than one pair of shoes to wear to work or play. I used odor-eaters. They are the best, Dr Scholls brand they are made of charcoal and they really take the stink out.
I use to wear leather shoes which are better for your feet than tennis shoes or man made materials.
You are not alone, you just feel like it.

Hi, @teapotmommommerced! Dr. Scholls is very expensive. I used to buy their gel deodorant. Sad to say it doesn't completely get rid of the bad smell. It's been months now since I discovered the best. It's alum. I'm making liquid alum.

Soak your feet in a tub or warm tea. Strong tea. The tannic acid will react with your skin and in most cases it will stop the smell. You might need to do it few times for a week or so but after that you should notice great results. It was on the Opera show on Monday so if you wnat more information on why it works look it up there.

Smelly foot area caused by bacteria wherein most of the time occurs when your foot sweats and its trapped inside footwear. I can say that these might helps.
1. Bathe your feet daily in lukewarm water with a mild soap and dryi thoroughly, especially between the toes.
2. Change your socks once a day.
3. Dust your feet frequently with foot powder, always wipe between the toes to remove excess moisture.
4. Wear thick, soft socks to help absorb the moisture. Choose the most absorbent sock, say cotton or wool.
5. Avoid use of nylon socks or plastic shoes - wear shoes made of leather, canvas, mesh or other material so you feet can breathe.
6. Do not use same pair of shoes in two consecutive day, after using the shoes, keep it clean and dry.
7. If 1 to 6 still not help ask for medication, they might give you anti persperant to lessen sweating of your feet which cause it to smell.
Hope these tips helps you. Good luck!

make sure you wash all areas of your feet specially the creases. also make sure to dry your feet thoroughly before you put your shoes on.
Also there are products on the market now that can help with your problem like a spray or powder that can keep your feet dry even when you wear closed shoes. I think that's it's an important part of our personal hygiene. Try Dr Scholl's.
