I usually take 2 Tylenol Extra Strengths. 500 mg. I get frequent headaches from teeth clenching and this always helps.

msmamaof2,
have you tried applying a very hot wash cloth to your jaw right in front of your ear? I work for a dentist and any time we have someone with TMJ or related problem, we always do this before & after the procedure to help calm the muscles which usually keeps them from getting a headache. I hope you go to the dentist regularly and wear a night/bite guard b/c I've seen what years of grinding can do and it's NOT pretty! Does your dentist do equilibration?

Hane you ever try foot reflexology.Headaches can easily get rid by massage your both big toe where it has the nerve that connected to the brain.Foot reflexology means stimulation occurs when pressure is applied on the specific area .Check out this site: http://www.footreflexology.blogspot.com

I get those kind of headaches too, and sometimes they turn into full blown migraines. I don't know anything about the oils....you might be able to go to a place like GNC. I know they carry things like that. There are 2 sets of pressure points that you can try for alleviating some of the pain. One set is right where the neck and the skull meet, kind of on the sides. And the other set is at the base of the neck where it meets the shoulders. Press on each set for about 30 seconds each, and it should help. For me, when that doesn't work, I resort to good ol' Excedrin Migraine. It does wonders.

Most of the headaches that I get are migranes....I usually have an aura before which can give me time to lay down before it gets too bad...if I do not lay doen within 10-15 minutes then I end up at the hospital...receiving imitrex or an injection....I would not wish these headaches on anyone....my daughter does not get them...but my granddaughter who is 7...has been getting them for years.....I, too, remember having them when I was a girl...my Mom called them "sick headaches"...
Sorry that I could not provide more help.

hello there. my head have been aching lately and i think its because i was about to have my period. anyway, when i have some head ahces, i try to just let it be, without taking any painkillers because i dont wanna be immune to it. however, when i really cant take the pain anymore, that's the time i take pain killers.

i really can't think the best way to get rid of your headache besides sleeping.
maybe just use the 1 hour to sleep, but don't take the aleve, cos it will be dangerous if you're driving.

i really hate it when i am suffering from headaches. but what i do when in a situation is i rest for awhile. i lie down in bed and if my mom or brother aren't doing anything or aren't that busy, i ask them to give me a head and neck massage. and i feel better afterwards. i believe so much in touch therapy and so, i hope you can find someone who can give you a massage, too. it really works.

I use sleep for half an hour. If i dont have time, i use to have a cup of hot tea. If my headache is not ok, even after that, i will take some medicines.

Take 2 pandols the normal one and apply Vicks the balm on either side of your forehead and inhale the Vicks which are in your finger tips. This will solve a normal headache but if it is severe check your blood pressure if it is high. If you have not taken your pressure tablet take it immediately before you have a haemorrhage in your eye or internal organs. Am I too cruel the fact is your good health.

Most of the time I try to lay down awhile until the headache goes away. If that doesn't work, there's some stuff called "Tiger Balm" that really does help me. My jar is ancient but it still has the heavy scent. I assume this product is still available.

I usually go for a quick, high-energy run to pump up my happy, pain-killing chemicals and then a warm shower. If I still have it, I press gently at the base of my skull and my temples, just enough to relieve the pain. It's an instant form of pain relief, though temporary.

Thank you, no the headaches are not persistent, and I do believe that they come partly because of the other medications that I must take to keep functioning, , A quick high energy run would probably lead to a heart attack, but I do walk 2.5 Kilometers a day in addition to all the other walking I do. Also if these headaches of yours are persistent, you should see your doctor about them. They could be an indication of a more serious problem.

for me, sleeping is the best medicine... i will definitely have to sleep if i have a headache... before i sleep, i will ask my husband to give me a massage and apply some oils to my back and my temples... it really helps... i am sorry to hear that you still have to go and pick up your granddaughter even though you are sick... can't you ask for someone else to help you to pick her up so that you can have a rest??? hope you will get well soon...

If you have spare time then you can use this time to take a nap. Have a glass of warm water beforehand. You can opt to take panadol tablet so it will kill the headache. Some say by drinking a lot of water it can cure anything mostly.

I used to pop tylenol like candy for a headache and now I stopped. None of that stuff really works. I just add some rub to the back of my neck and call it a day now.

Take aspirins, and paracetamols. I used to take advil whenever I had a headached. When I am at work I keep my eyes close for 15 minutes so that it could relax a bit. Usually I lay down when I have an headache and take a deep rest. I believe headache occurs when a person is in so much stress, work and pressures. Keep your mind rest and relax.

Whenever i get a headache i try to get some fresh air, and if that doesnt work i try taking an aspirin! the one i take doesnt make you sleepy and quiet quickly alleviates the pain! its called Ponston! i dont know whether its available where you live but its quiet effective!
The last remedy i know to get rid of a wicked headache is putting an icepack over the head! the cool really helps when you have a throbbing kinda sensation in the head!
I hope your headache gets better! if it persists i suggest you consult a physician!
Good luck!!

I used to drink paracetamol for my head ache and sometimes some pain reliever to stop the pain. Sometimes taking a sleep can help too, and putting ice cold in a ice pack to your head can ease some pain. But the best is you try to message it with someone aand put some little linimint in your fore head so that you can easily sleep.
