The Ultimate Cat Fight - Rosie O'donnell vs. Elizabeth Hasselbeck - Oh Man

This is great. Rosie O'Donnell and Elizabeth Hasselbeck went at each other today on the View. This was amazing video. They were discussing the Iraq war. I think it shows the division amonst Americans regarding this war. Please check this video out. It will take sometime to download, so please be patient. Rosie looked like she was almost in tears. This was not staged. It was real. Tell me what you think. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lloyd Here is the link: http://abc.go.com/fsp/index.html?channel=TheView

I don't watch the show, and I don't even know who Hasselbeck is. But it seems O'Donnell has become increasingly cantankerous over the last few years. Yes, Donald Trump is an idiot, but I can't understand why she didn't just make one put-down of him and then let it go at that. Maybe she was doing it for ratings. Oh well, at least this incident has people talking about something besides Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

I really don't think she does these things for ratings. She's just someone who is outspoken and don't really care what the people who oppose her think. I do believe Donald Trump's reaction was something to bring more attention to himself. Just my opinion. Lloyd

I saw it and I have noticed lately that Elizabeth has been at odds with Rosie not just today. Did you also notice how she got sarcastic with Barbara? She had better be careful as Barbara is the boss. I really get a kick out of The View!

I sill think Elizabeth was sarcastic when she made the remark about Barbara list of Bush' wrongs being so long and Barabara told her I let you talk now let me talk.

I disagree. To me Elizabeth stood her ground. It would be a disaster to remove her. I'm so glad to see women discuss current events with such passion. Now I'm starting to feel sad that Rosie is leaving. Lloyd

I can see why Rosie was getting so angry. Elizabeth danced around the question that Rosie asked. I agree with Rosie - Iraq is not our enemy. Osama bin Laden in AFGHANISTAN attacked us. We went after him just long enough to get people riled up enough to support Bush going after Hussein. He has been executed and yet we are still there. Iraq is not our enemy. We are not there fighting them because they are fighting us. We are there fighting them because they are fighting each other!!! Bring our troops home. We don't need to die anymore while they fight over how to establish their government. As far as Afghanistan - why are we no longer pursuing the people that attacked us??? Why because it no longer serves Bush to do so. IMO Well I have rambled enough - go Rosie!!

I agree with you. We had Osama Bin Laden on the ropes and then we changed course. We removed the Taliban from Afhanistan and had the support of the whole world. Sadamn is now gone and things are worst than ever before. Our invasion of Iraq was truly misguided. I recently read that we are spending 3 billion dollars per week in Iraq. Does anyone think that we are getting a decent return on our money? I don't. Just my opinion. Lloyd

I was ready to respond against Rosie O'Donnell, but then you said that she looked like she was near tears. I saw the video and I did not notice that. I did, however, notice how this Elizabeth Hasselbeck was holding her own against Rosie. I guess one of the reasons that I do not like Rosie, is because she reminds me so much of the side of me that I do not like. It is hard for her to control her emotions when she is passionate about something. I can not say that I sympathize with her, because we are all suffering from this Iraq war, in one way or another. I am just so tired of hearing about another person being killed and as far as I can see, this war is still completely senseless. After they took down Saddam that should have been the end of it. I don't understand what needs to happen for the war to finally end. I'll admit that politically I am a little slow, but none of this makes much sense to me at all. The thing about it is, so many people agree with me.

24 May 07
You are not politically slow at all. You expressed your point of view very well. I wish we would have never invaded Iraq. I felt the no-fly zone was working perfectly. I feel so sorry for the people of Iraq. There are so many displaced people. It's the most dangerous place on our planet. Sadamn was a tyrant, but Iraq was no where near to what it is today when he was in power. I agree with you that Rosie is very passionate and I don't hate her. There has to be room for opposing points of views and she presents it. Never say that you are politically slow because it's the political experience politicians that has us in the mess we are in today. Take care. Lloyd

I have watched this show a few minutes here and there...maybe twice...over the years. I hate when people talk fast and talk over each, and they do both. You have to be listening to what they are saying and ready for what is next at the same time. I see no talent in these women for anything. They get paid big bucks for nothing. A total waste of time. I still do not know how Elizabeth got her post on the show except for being on a reality show and marrying a sports personality..she acted fast! What a waste of time these people.

Lloyd, this wasn't an argument about the War. It was an argument about friendship. They both claim they like each other and are friends, even though they have radically different political views. Rosie never said that she thinks our troops are terrorists, yet it was on certain news programs and tv shows that she insinuated this. I find this type of news reporting irreprehensible, but that is not the topic of your discussion. As a friend to a friend, Rosie asked EH if she thought that she (Rosie) thought our troops were terrorists. A simple yes or no question. EH did not give her an answer to the question. Then EH threw up Donald Trump in Rosie's face, which was childish and had absolutely nothing to do with what they were talking about. It was just brought up by Elisabeth to get under Rosie's skin and distract away from the fact that EH did not answer a simple question! Distractions away from what is important is one of the best things the GWB administration does, and EH absolutely thinks GWB is DA BOMB! And just in case you hear different,(from Fox News or Extra or whoever thinks that news about Rosie should lead off their program, instead of news about the War or the missing soldiers or well, I think you get my point) Rosie will not be on Thursday's show as she is celebrating Kelli's 40th birthday. PEACE

Wow!! Elizabeth reminds me of a couple of other people I know who are biased on how they feel about something, and if others do not believe and think the same way too, then they need to keep quiet. No, I may not always agree with everything that Rosie O'Donnell has said or done, but what is wrong with Free speech here? Makes me wonder sometimes. It must be deeper than this in reality for them to go at it like this, considering Rosie is leaving the view. No, I do not take sides as no one knows the real truth to what happened before hand to set them off like this, but this is a little Crazy if you ask me.

That's why I don't think this was staged. Rosie is leaving the show, so what would be in it for her? I don't think people should ever be silenced no matter what their opinion is. They claim that they are friends, but I doubt it. Do you you think they will get together for a BBQ this Memorial Day weekend? lol Lloyd

I don't watch The View, and I'm definitely not a Rosie fan lol. But, that Elizabeth girl...what a piece of work. All she did was show her ignorance, and the fact she wouldn't shut up for longer then 2 seconds really did help her argument. As for her holding her ground, kinda hard to say, she didn't really say much other then interrupting everyone with her idiot comments....No idea who she is since I don't watch the show, but she definitely holds no credit or weight as far as I'm concerned...She should stick to shopping lol.

Absolutely everyone is entitled to their opinions, and all the power to those that have the courage to do so!! However, she didn't really give an opinion, she just looked dumb lol....I hate to say it, but like Rosie said, it was double speak. Turning a question into an answer as opposed to just answering it...You're right in your original post though, it shows a lot of people are divided on the whole Iraq issue, but I for one am against this whole thing, and again, I hate to quote Rosie(it's killing me lol), but what did Iraq do to us??? Nada....

I saw the View this morning. You don't even want to know what I think, but since you asked... That Elizabeth girl wouldn't know a fact if it was filing her nails for her. It was not only Rosie she was after today. That chick interrupted everyone, Alicia Silverstone included, today. That girl needs to get a clue and stop buying into this neo-con crap that is going around. I think lil Lizzie pissed off the entire rest of the panel more than once today. If she likes facts so much, maybe she oughtta try looking some up before running her mouth. Rosie's done in June, and I don't expect the View to last much past that.

Well, dude, I must say I'm getting worn with this little fascination you have with arguing with me. But I feel that you obviously didn't read the entire thread nor did you actually pay attention to the show, so I must waste my breath on you once more. Rosie asked Lizzie a direct question, that still has yet to be answered...and the fact remains that the girl was rude to everyone on the show, including the guests. And it doesn't take much guts for a hormonal pregnant lady to get nasty. Rosie might be ballsy, but I don't forsee her knocking the crap out of a pregnant woman for any reason.

Ummm. Sounds like you must have a secret admirer. lol The View is desparetly looking for Rosie's replacement. Rosanne Barr seems to be in the lead. Sometimes it seems like the people who support the President and this war and those who don't support the President and this war are looking at two different circumstances. I see a total disaster regarding this war. I see more terrorist in Iraq than ever before. I feel so sorry for the displaced people of Iraq. And I don't see it coming to a good conclusion anytime soon. Just my opinion. Lloyd

Maybe they should have a real catfight--put them both in a tub of mud or Jell-O or something and let them have at it. I bet that would get better ratings than The View! Throw The Donald in there too, and you're guaranteed good ratings. Much better than The Apprentice!

Not this again. It was for attention. Nothing else. I wish everyone would stop making a big deal out of something so small. Because then it turns out to a big ordeal and then it gets telivised and so on. Just what they want. Attention for probably Rosie and shes leaving anyway.

URGENT MEMO TO: Jerry Reese, GM, New York Giants FROM: Fans Subject: QB baggage Dear Mr. Reese, Please be advised that an enormous segment of the Giants' home market cannot deal with being tortured by the QB situation any more. It is bad enough that we have to deal with the uncertainty of wondering which Eli will show up from week to week. Now second-string Tim's wife is on a hormonal rampage again? ENOUGH, we cry! Please trade his not-all-that self to another team, preferably on the West Coast, or the soon-to-be-announced expansion team......on the moon. Anywhere, we don't care, as long as it's far enough away that we don't have to hear her uninformed, unenlightening and frequently unintelligble knee-jerk right wing CRAPOLA on The View any more! We thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this urgent matter. Sincerely, The Fans

Ok now I understand. You had my head spinning for a minute. lol Thanks for the clarification. I'm here in South Jersey near Philadelphia. We love going up against Eli Manning. We feel we can get him rattled and he'll make a mistake. I have to admit that he is very overrated. He should have went to San Diego when he was drafted by the Chargers. Instead he chose to go to New York and all of the pressure. So far he hasn't lived up to expectations. Lloyd

Sorry! Eli is Eli Manning, QB and baby brother of Super Bowl Champion QB Peyton Manning. His play is erratic, to say the least, causing NYG fans no end of despair. Eli came from the same draft class as Ben Rothlisberger, last year's Super Bowl Champ QB. Tim is Tim Hasselbeck, NYG 2nd string QB and husband of Elisabeth. He is also the baby brother of last year's runner up Super Bowl QB, Matt Hasselbeck. Tim doesn't possess quite the same degree of skill as his brother, either. Since Elisabeth is such a homebody, she would surely leave New York if her husband got traded elsewhere, effectively leaving the View. That would be super-duper fine with me, because we'd lose her and half of our baby brother QB problem in one fell swoop! This chick has no qualifications whatsoever to sit on that stage with those other women. She's a predictable bore, and I find it frightening to see a mind so young, so uninformed, closed so very tightly. BRING BACK LISA LING!
