Tonight, I am home by myself. Hubby took the kids and went to town to get a new lawnmower, and Kristen needed new tennis shoes for work. Do you ever just need time alone? What do you like to do when you have a few minutes to yourself? I love to read a book and just listen to the crickets outside my window.

Yes, time alone is important. I like to read, so I read when I'm alone. I, also, find mylot to be a relaxing place to talk and discuss things with people. I meant to mention in your other post, that I'd enlarged your photo and your daughters are beautiful. It is really obvious their boyfriends are brothers, are they twins - they look so much alike?

My alone time, is usually when I go into the other room and shut my bedroom door and block out the sounds of the television and my kids and hubby in the living room. Last night was a treat having the house all to myself.

He will take them with him quite a bit. Sometimes they don't want to go, because they're back in their rooms on the phone or something. I just love the peace and quiet sometimes, and have been known to turn off the phones when they aren't there!

That's usually when I get it as well. Occasionally, I will take a day off in the week and nobody will be home but me. That doesn't happen often. I loved my night to myself! I even ate ice cream!

I love to have time for myself every now and then. When everybody is out or gone I would just relax to watch tv or read something.

I haven't had time to sit down and read in almost two weeks. I found a book this morning that needs to go back to the Library, but I'm going to keep it through this weekend and try and find time to read it.

Time alone? Whats that? I'm married but feel like a single mom. My hubby is out most of the month working (and no he's not a truck driver) and when he's home he's too tired to want to watch our child. I understand he works hard but being a mom is 24/7/365 job. I don't think men understand that. Maybe this time when he's home for about a week I will be able to get a few hours to myself. I love reading when I have a few minutes to myself and scrapbooking. :)

That's a great idea...about the mother's day out. You all need to have some time to rest and regroup. Mother's day out or MOPS (Mother's of pre-schoolers) are popping up everywhere. My daughter went when she was younger, and I loved having the morning to myself to grocery shop with out a child begging for everything, or whatever I needed to do.

You are so right, they don't get it. My hubby was working 2 jobs there for a while from 8am to 10pm then he would come home and crash!! It was quite annoying. Now he's gone for 4-18 days at a time. This time he's out for 11 or 12 and by the time he gets home I'll be ready for a break.

I sometimes find myself needing alot of time to myself with 3 kids 6 and under mommy needs some mommy time, unfortunatly my time alone is usually running to the grocery store or somewhere else to get something so there really isnt any relaxation involved. If i ever do get a moment at home by myself i like to just lay down and if i sleep i sleep if i dont it dont matter just the chance to put my feet up and realx is nice. But i also have the problem that when they are not all around i feel like there is something missing it is weird, everytime all the kids have been gone for any amount of time we just kinna sit around and look at the clock to see if it is getting close to the time they are to return then they do and we wonder why we were in such a hurry. hahahehehe lol

no, it is not weird that you feel something is missing. That is a sign of a good mom. I really felt it when james went off to college last fall.

I live alone, but they still manage to find me. When I need to get away from them I get my knitting or a good book and head for The Second Cup, just up the street from here, to read, knit, and drink a lot of coffee. I love that place, it's my home away from home.

I love to take a book and go to the coffee shop here in my office building. Sometimes I get to read it, other times a friend will come along, and we have a nice chat.

Whenever I can get them to take a trip into town.... well we live there now. I usually take the time to clean and clean. So much can get done when they are all gone and not underfoot. Now that we are in town and in a house we are renting my daughter is helping me more and that is nice to see. We have squireels and birds more in this city for the time being we are here. I read at night before sleeping. Take care!!

We have a squirrel at our house that likes to harrass my big dog (Half german shepherd/half boxer) It will get on top of the fence in the back yard and just chatter at Romeo, knowing that he can't reach it. It's like he's laughing at him.

Yes, I like to be alone sometimes. I like to clean my house when I am by myself, take a long bath, and go sit on the bath porch and just relax. I think it is good to have a little time to yourself. Sometimes, I will do stuff I don't get to do when othes are around, like paint my toenails, read a book, etc.

Last night, I ran my sunken garden tub full of hot water and bubbles and got a book and had a nice, relaxing bath. I need to do my toe nails as well, but I just didn't take the time to do that.
