How was your first diaper change?? I was scared to death!!!! I had my baby boy 7.5 months ago. I didn't know what to do and I could think was NURSE do this for me!!! I kept thinking the whole time in the hospital that I will never get the hang of this. I didn't really have any messes, although he did peepee on me a couple times. Now I could change a diaper upside down, blind folded, and one handed!! LOL!!!

i was a little scared due to the fact that he was so tiny. i've changed daipers before. i used to watch my little cousins and my sisters god daughter was always over. but he was a newborn and just so tiny with little feet. i was more scared about the shooting range of my child. luckily, it got my husband the first time he did it, it leaned to the left a bit where he was standing...lol

I was acually lucky enough to have older sisters who had babies when i was 9 years old so i go to change my neices diapers and then later i baby sat for her when she had more children it was a little unsettling at first for me to change my nephews diaper since i had only had the experience of a girl diaper change. But i did it a couple times had a few sprays in the air and learned to move fast as to not get peed on. So when i finally was old enough and started having my children i was a pro at it, I too can change a diaper in any situation now it becomes second nature.

I never thought twice about it. The first diaper I ever changed was my oldest daughter's. She was about a day old (so it wasn't her first). My husband and the nurses did most of them because I had a c-section and it was hard to get in and out of bed to change her. I didn't find it hard or scary. Well it was hard in that I was in a lot of pain so it hurt to stand over her bassinet. 2 years later I had 3 in diapers and could change them all in under a minute, lol. I have been changing diapers for almost 7 years now and I consider myself a pro.

LOL! I have changed so many diapers between my two kids and other people's kids that I could probably change a diaper while blind folded and while upside down! My first diaper change with my first born daughter wasn't hard at all. But I think that is because I been working in childcare for so many years that I was just use to it. The only thing weird for me was she was so tiny and like the comment above me, I was afraid I would break her. LOL!

I was terrified because my son was so little I thought I was going to break him. Although I had babysat for a longtime before having children they never seemed that small to me he was only 5lbs 6 my mom helped me through it but for days i would be so careful afraid i would hurt him

This is an interesting topic, made me smile that's for sure hehe. I don't yet have children but started babysitting infants at the age of 13 and must admit that I was a bit scared too. After changing my first one I felt a bit silly for making such a big deal about it. I think the trick is simply to hold your breath and work as fast as you can. Luckily I never got urinated on or anything worse than that..phew.

LOL, I had a terrible time also. I had never even held a baby or even fed a baby when I had my son. I asked the nurse to show me how to change the diaper, and she asked, "How old are you?" When I informed her I was 29, she said I should already know how to do stuff. She huffed and puffed, but she did show me how to change it. That is the one thing I do not miss about my son being little. I'm glad we are past the diapers.

My first child was really big when she was born. I'd been worried I'd break my newborn, until I saw how big she was! I'd never seen a newborn before. They brought my roommate's five-pound baby in and I thought, "Good grief! They are so tiny!" Then they brought my 9 pound 11 ounce daughter in an it was "no problem" changing her. But when I went to help my grown daughter with her firstborn she had this tiny behind. I mean there was no fat on her anywhere. My son-in-law, me and my spouse were trying to take care of the baby so my daughter could rest. We had newborn disposable diapers and they kept sliding right off when you picked her up! It was really hysterically funny after a while - three grown adults with combined college years of probably 16 years and every time we picked up the baby the diaper fell off!

My first diaper change was for my niece... For me, its exciting... I was young at that time and obviously, i couldnt handle a baby... But regardless, i still tried changing the diaper... Under my mum's guidance... I succeeded and from then on, i would be the once changing diaper for her.. =)
