which do you think is better, the regular Met or Met ER??

I've been on regular Met for almost 2 years now. I'm not a diabetic, I have insulin resistance. I also have pcos. I have horrible side effects with the met though. Mostly digestive issues, like diarrhea. I can't eat anything...
