Has anyone's "infertility status" changed after having a baby?

It took my husband and I 6 years to conceive and have a successful pregnancy. I have PCOS with IR. Our baby boy is 7.5 months old and we have decided to start trying again, afraid that it will take a long time. I "feel" like my pcos has gotten worse since giving birth. My symptoms are alot worse. I had a miscarriage in 2004. I'm more concerned with a m/c this time around than with my last pregnancy. I did end up getting gestational diabetes that went undiagnose. Andy was 11 lbs. 7oz.!!!! Sometimes I feel like he is the only child we will have. Just a gut feeling. Did anyone have an easier time conceiving # 2+????
Thanks!!!

Yes, I definitely found it easier the second time around - though I still needed ovulation induction with daily monitoring. It took me three years of treatments to fall pregnant the first time - Clomid at first, though I only had*weak* ovulation with it. Then I was on daily injections in the same routine as IVF - but conception was natural - no pulling out of eggs, etc. When my son was almost a year old, we returned to the clinic to put our names down on the list, as the waiting list was over 12 months. But I was told I could start straight away after a blood test to see if I started ovulating myself (it happens) I didn't, but I became pregnant after two cycles! With twin boys.
It's quite possible that you will find it easier this time around. I think I also went in with the attitiude that it didn't matter if I had another child as at least I had one son. Then having two more was icing on the cake!Sprinkling Baby Dust for you and all who need it. Good luck.

It took us a total of 8 years to get pregnant. The last two years on Clomid and have IUI done. We haven't started to ttc #2, but we're going to go back on clomid and have another IUI. Hopefully it will be successful on like the first try, but the reality is that it'll take a few tries before it's official.
I don't know how hard it will be, but I hope it won't take 8 years like it did the first time. This time we know what we need to do.

yes. I was only on clomid but it makes you ovulate which I wasn't doing before. My husband thought that it would take just as long to get pregnant but I knew as soon as we done it I was pregnant with #2. Hopefully he gets it in his head for next time that he can get me pregnant with no problems. I can feel a difference now with the clomid. I never felt myself ovulating before now I know when I am.

Im really sorry to hear about that moonwell. But maybe you should see your doctor to ease your fears. It would take all the questions out of your mind and you would know for sure. I hope you have another child and good luck!

I had to go on Clomid to conceive my first child. We thought that we would have to go that route for our next one too. We went to the dr for a checkup and prescription, and he did some bloodwork. Imagine our suprise when the bloodwork showed I was already pregnant!!! I went on to have three more pregancies, including a set of identical twins (and one m/c). So yes, my infertility status definately changed after having a baby!
