In times of depression, whom do you look up to for inspiration?

I always look up to my father and mother, although I have lost both of them, when ever I feel lowly. Who gives you the ray of hope in your times of distress?

Like you, I turn to my mother and father during my darkest times. I try to think of the struggles they've went through in order to raise us properly. By thinking of such, I'm encouraged and inspired to face my own battles, since I feel that if my parents could do it, I could do it too. Apart from my parents, though, admirable figures who made their marks in the world help me in times of distress. Some of these prominent figures are Stephen Hawking, Bill Porter, and Lance Armstrong. I truly get inspired by thinking of what they've accomplished, given that they have ailments to contend with. They make me stronger and they make me feel that with willpower and faith, I could conquer all my challenges in life. If only we could all gather a thing or two from these great people, I feel that our lives would be filled with more hope.

when ever i am feeling depressed and lonely, i only look up to someone i know who won't really disappoint me, that is my Lord and my Saviour, Jesus Christ. there's no other one who can give me real comfort and joy when i am down. i say a little prayer and ask Him to give me strength as i go through some bad times in my life. i always believe on His promises of hope, joy, love, even blessings, in times of distress and hardships.

I would always turn to God, Jesus Christ and Mama Mary when things are really bad. I also turn to my family and to my children and they always make me feel better.

That is good; that really should be. Parents are the unlimited source of inspiration for every one. I am not exceptional rather than I am so as usual. Father is first source of inpiration then my mother. Some times my other family members like my brother & sisters. When I feel depression then I try to talk with my mother first then my father. If I can able to talk with my mother then 50% depression is gone far away from me.. When talk with my father then 100% depression is gone. Always, my father as well as my mother are idol for me.. Please make a pray for me so that I can be able to surve them.. Thanks.

I dont get depressed very often its just something I done allow to happen. but when I do get down I ask God for the help to pull myself out of the way i am feeling and for the strength to carry on. I also turn to my husband with whom I can talk to about anything. My Mother was a great one to help me with any depresion but she is gone now so I try to remember things she used to tell me and it helps a lot.

I look back to my parents also. But one person that I've always in my mind and that I need to think about is my grandmother.

When I am really depressed I call my mom or my sister. They help me through the rough times. Even when I do not tell anyone what is wrong, I still call them and their voice usually brings me out of what is bothering me. It used to be this way with my dad, just the sound of his voice made me feel better. He has passed on. It has been almost 10 years.

When I am feeling really down, my parents and my husband are the ones that I would turn to. Other than that, I have 4 best friends, friends that I've made for over 19 years, that I can spill my guts out in times of trouble.

I usually read one of the books given by my close friend. Its a great inspiration book where I can learn on how to handle and share the problem that is troubling me and causing me the depression. Its sure that you will get a lot of relief when you read good inspirational books which can help you out when you are depressed.

I'd go to my mom and my brother first, then perhaps my best friends.

i am sorry to hear about you losing your parents. but i am glad that it's to them you still look up to when you feel down and sad. whenever i feel bad, i draw strength from my parents and siblings, too. they had always been there for me ever since. and now, i also have my very supportive boyfriend to cheer me up. these are the people who make my life better that no matter how much i fall, i will get back on my feet to go on with life.

I usually blog it when I'm down. My mom just gets on my nerves more trying to comfort me, and the hubs has enough problems. By the time I'm done venting in one of my various rant-blogs, I usually feel much better.

I think that when i'm in doubt of life or myself, i'll call upon my grandmother. I've always looked up to her whenever i'm at rock bottom, and in trouble. She has always taken the time to help me with out ridaculing me, she's just helped and then told me how she felt about my situations. I think that its best when parenting to use the same policy, basically just help now and yell later. Its better to get the bad situation taken care of before reacting with anger or regret I think. Its just better and faster for you and the person in trouble.
