Fires burning in Florida and California..sub-tropical storms leading into hurricane season..tornadoes thru the mid-west..flooding..etc~ Do you live in any of these places where mother nature is none-to-happy right now, or been visiting/vacationing when something like this has happened?

That makes two of us! I don't care to relive those memories at all.

No, thank you God. I do however feel for people when I see them going through these things. I always feel helpless and wish there was something I could do. I always pray and count my blessings.

I have. I was 5 years old in 1989 when the Loma Prieta Earthquake went through the Bay Area, making bridges fall, buildings go up in flames, and keeping a World Series game from being played. It was scary for me, and I was little, too, so it was a pretty crazy time for me. And yes, even after the 7.1 rocking, I still live in California, but I'm trying to move from earthquakes to wildfires and a little away from the faults (San Diego). We'll see...

We were only about 60 miles from where Katrina hit. It was really hard knowing so many people peronally from that area that lost everything. Also, a major factor having our city double in size overnight and become a traffic nightmare! It didn't help that Rita hit only 2 weeks after Katrina causing even more devastation along the coast and throughout Louisiana.

I live in the southern part of Missouri. Any flooding that we ge here is just localized flooding because we are far enough away from the river to be affected. We have the occasional tornado go through, but so far have been lucky enough not to have any major damage. Is there any place where nature isn't a factor in someone's life?
