I dont understand the lyrics myself. I like the group, I like their music and a lot of their lyrics were very political. However some songs have unexplainable lyrics like Suite-pea. I like the beat and you dont really understand what they are saying until you read...

What are the lyrics of which you speak?
A lot of rock groups have lyrics that could be interpreted as antiChristian.
Rolling Stones had Sympathy for the Devil.
Metallica sing about the unforgiven Jesus wasn't the god's only son, speaking of Satan being cast out.
Many songs aim to be controversial and fail because most of the listeners don't bother to try to interpret the lyrics.

Well in chop-suey, they say "father, father father into your hands I commend my spirit, y have u forsaken me??"I dont believe or interpret way they sing, obviously,, but I would not like to listen to that particular part cause it makes me feel uncomfortable, n I feel I m sinnng against God, n making fun of Him. They looked at the sky n sang that part, as though they r mimcking or challenging Him.I like them though, n they r really amazing...Wat say?

I actually find System of a Down's lyrics to be deeply spiritual, especially songs like Chop Suey. Didn't Jesus say something like that when he was on the cross? Well, regardless, to me it's a cry of pain from someone who feels disconnected from their creator and does not want to be. It isn't making fun, it's expressing what's in their hearts and minds. And from what I've read of their lyrics, their hearts are very much in the right place.

Actually from what I understand is that they are not anti-christ. I know that Chop Suey did sound kind of against God but then listen to the Forest song and think about that one. The Forest song is like God talking to Jesus if you listen to it but then again I think it is all based on interpretation. But no I do not think they are against God or anything like that.
