Do you rate mylot users' discussions/responses...

Yes, I always rate those that take the time to respond to my discussions. I never give a negative rating unless their extremely abusive though. What makes you give a negative rating to someone?

I had posted similar topic months agao and yes..I always rate users and it is usually with a + ..Very rarely do I ever use any other rating;)+

i alway give a rating,very rarly given a negitve to any body unless its spam and abuse then ill report them.

it has been my habit rating every discussion/response and even comment i go through mylot. i give mostly positive ratings to every respondent which i believe would give them credits too for their star reputations.

I always rate those who responded and give comments. I always rate positive. If I think that a response or comment I get does not merit a good rating, I will just leave it. I give + rating also to other discussions. And I have just given you a plus rating for your discussion.

Yes, I do give rating for each discussion I have response. I think the user would like to be rate, right? I love to recieve rating regardless negative or positive. This will let me know whre I stand.

Yes, 99% of the time, I rate positive. I don't rate negative unless the answer is just one word, or spam.

I rate all the responses I get and all the topics I response. For I response to a discussion mean I choose it for a reason so the right is i rate,also to anyone response to me is a way I show that I respect each one response I get.Is the least we can do.

I think that I am more the type of person to rate my own discussions either negatively or positively, but when I am going through other discussions, I usually only rate the positive ones. I think that if there are offensive responses I will report them or rate a person negatively, but usually I won't. I will rate the very good responses, but feel as though it's the original poster that should rate the bad answers on their own.

I rate every discussion/response that I read. I think it is the right thing to do. Why else would they have the rating system if we weren't supposed to use it? I have seen lots of conversations about this subject. I don't understand the 'workings' of it but I do it anyways.

I have never given any negative rating to any discussions and responses. It is my way of respecting other people's opinion and thoughts. Who am I to give them negative rating. What may be right or wrong for me may not be true for everybody. I rate all my friends discussions and responses positive just for posting and expressing their thoughts. If it's too short or I don't like it, then I just don't rate it.

Every thing I read i do rate, it takes less than a second and doesn't cost me anything; so why not help mylot friends and all mylot members in general.. I usually give the positive rate and don't give negative unless someone really deserve it, in many cases i choose not to rate because I don't think it's good but still not an abuse or very bad post.

I thought that only best resposes should be rated + ve so idont care much about that sign .can all the postings can be rated?

Yes I always make sure to take time to give postive ratings to the discussions and responses which I think I are good. I don't give out negatives though.

Hi, I'm pretty new here and didn't realize this about rating people's responses. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I also think a person shouldn't be given a negative rating just because they have a different opinion from yours. Anyway, I think I'll be doing a lot of rating from now on ;-)

I always use those buttons there are for rating, when I respond to a discussion or I read responses to my discussions. Usually I give plus rating, unless it is not abusive or just only one word. I think if someone take the time to respond to my discussion then I also should take the time to rate them with a plus. ALso I think that if a discussion is worth responding to me then the discussion deserve a plus rating from me.

I always rate all of the discussions that I respond to. I also rate their response back to me also. I also rate them when they respond to any of my discussions as well. I think that is what we are all supposed to do. I think everyone deserves credit for being productive here at Mylot also.

I read and rate all responses to my discussions. I also rate posts in discussions I respond to. i think that is a big part of the mylot experience

One of my friends (haven't heard from her in awhile) once started a discussion, and brought the DRS (Discussion Rating System) to our attention. It says that giving negative ratings actually pulls down your own as well. Ever since I saw that, I've refrained from using the minus button. Instead, I express disagreement verbally. This adds to the discussion, and lets everyone know what sides there are. I try to do this tactfully, however. No "slamming." I do use the plus button whenever there is a response I really like. Sometimes I'll add to it, but only if I have something to add. It is against the rules to post "me too" responses, and it's a waste anyway, IMO.
