Have you ever traveled to a foreign country?

When my husband and I were dating he was in a Spanish club in college. They were going to Monterray, Mexico and he wanted me to go along. So I went along with he and about four or five other people in the group plus about three adult chaperones. We drove the whole way and it took almost exactly 24 hours to get there so it was a long trip but we had a great time. The hotel we stayed in was on top of a hill and we could look down into the valley. We went into town and got to go to the tables that they had set up with all sorts of pretty things for sale. Steve bought me a beautiful Mexican bride doll while we were there and I still have it sitting in our dining room on a shelf.

Those would be some places to visit too. My husband has a little bit of Scottish and a little bit of Irish in him. :)

Hi SheilaLee, how are you today? Unfortunately, I have never traveled outside of the US. I would love to go to Italy, Greece and a few other places. It's nice that your hubby took you to Mexico and I love the idea of still having the Mexican bride doll. Have you ever traveled to any other foreign country? Perhaps one day I will get the chance to travel. Take care...

Hi tsgirl01! I'm doing good and hope you are having a wonderful day!! The only other country I have been too was only for five minutes, literally. When I was singing in the youth choir at my church when I was a teenager we were involved in competitions that took us to different states. One year we traveled to Missouri. While we were there we went through a tunnel that traveled along the bottom of the river and went over into Canada. We wanted to get out and look around some but unfortunately the driver of the bus wasn't very cooperative or nice and refused to stop because it was raining. Needless to say we were not happy with him. But at least I can say I was in Canada for a whole five minutes, LOL! I haven't been anywhere else but if ever given the opportunity I would love to travel to the Holy Land and see where Jesus walked and taught. That would be a wonderful experience. But to tell you the truth, with all the fighting going on over there I would be almost afraid to go. :)

Hi gabs! I don't like to fly either hon but a lot of the conventions my husband goes to as a delegate requires flying because he doesn't want to drive the distance, Ha! Ha! The longest flight we had was going to Honolulu, Hawaii in 2004. I didn't think we would ever get there LOL. But we had a great time while we were there. :)

I have never been that far from home. I live in Maryland and I go to Tennessee and North Carolina a lot. I enjoy Tennessee because the people are so laid back and easy going. I am not always rushing around when I am there. The air there is also better to breathe. I have never been to Mexico and never really wanted to. I do however, want to visit Jamaca and one day I will.

Hi sizzle! Tennessee is not too far from where I live, just depending on what city you are going to see. I have been there a few times but not that many. My sister-in-law lives there. My husband and I used to live in North Carolina when he was in the Marine Corp. That is a pretty state also. :)

Yes, I had travelled to another country mainly Japan, Dominican Republic and the Cayman Islands. My native country is the Philippines so I get to go take a vacation there now and then. I love the Cayman Islands and its beaches. I had a great time in the Dominican Republic and the resort that we stayed on was pretty. Someday, I would love to visit Italy and other European countries. I would love to go visit Israel too. But before we do that, I think I was to explore the other states because I know there are lots of pretty places out there to explore.

I've been to Mexico, the good part and the bad parts. Just like any other country. I've been there probably 4 times. I've also been to Australia, New Zealand, and briefly Fiji. My only impression of the few hours I was in Fiji was the extreme humidity. The weather in New Zealand was the best, but you couldn't beat the scenery in Australia.

I have never been out of the US. I have rarely left the state of Illinois for all that matters. I did spend a year in Washington state. That is such a beautiful state. My fiancee and I went on our first trip together this past month. We went to Kentucky to visit my moms family. He got to see why I like to visit Kentucky but would never want to live there. I am glad you enjoyed your trip to Mexico and that you have some wonderful memories.

Hi KissThis!! It is good to hear from you. I used to go to Kentucky quite a bit when I was a kid. My mother and I would travel with some friends from our church in Huntsville, Al to Kentucky for brush arbor revivals. We would have the worship services outside under the brush arbors that people would build. We would go and stay for a few days at a time and then travel back home. It was always a long drive but we had good services there. You bringing up Kentucky brings back some good memories of those meetings. But I like living in Alabama much better too, LOL.

That is so sweet about the doll and that you still have it. I once got to go to Cancun, Mexico for a 3 day vacation. I went with a girlfriend and we flew. We had fun, neither of us were married at the time. I would love to go overseas someday.

I do love to travel abroad, in fact I have my passport. Sad to say I haven't tried going abroad yet. I am planning to apply for an immigrant visa. Am still keeping my fingers cross and my faith to have my dreams come true. God willing if given the chance to marry a foriegner then I can bring my family abroad too.

Wow, that mexico trip sounds cool. I have been to Canada and Costa Rica (and I will be going to Costa Rica again in about two weeks, woo hoo!) I have also been to Puerto Rico although I don't know if that counts as "foreign" because it's a US territory. i love to travel and try to take a trip at least once a year. not necessarily outside the US, but at least somewhere. last year i went to chicago

Mexico is a lovely country to go travelling in. I went to California and took a day trip. Even better on another trip I flew to Cancun. From there I caught a bus down to the beautiful beaches and Mayan Ruins of Tulum. Next I travelled into Belize. I went to the stunning island of Caye Caulker. It was wonderful for snorkelling trips. I saw nurse sharks. Wow! I swam with sting rays. I also took a boat out to see manatees. I was very impressed with the conservation efforts in Belize. Next I went inland to stay in a treehouse. It was an amazing place to stay. I loved adventure I had the next day. It was caving with a difference. We had to walk, crossing three rivers, put on helmets before swimming into the cave. Then lots of climing was involved. Lastly on that trip I went to the Mayan Ruins at Tikal. I loved climbing the giant structures. The view over the green jungle took my breath away. Sunrise and sunset had many animals hooting or growling. It was so memorable. The lovely lake side town of Flores was also a place I really enjoyed. I love travelling. I have been to many countries. My favourites are: Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Belize, Croatia and Montenegro.
