All for attention?

Have you ever noticed that some MyLot users post controversial or disgusting topics or are rude ALL THE TIME? Do you think maybe they just do it for attention or are they really like that in the real world, too? I've seen some VERY abrasive people on here, and I've never encountered people quite this abrasive in the real world (or maybe I just avoid them like the plague and they DO exist?).
How do you react? Do you report them? Rate them negative? Respond to them? Ignore them completely?

I think its a combination of both. You may not see them in the real world because you dont go to the same places they go. People are more likely to be open on here because they will never meet anyone here face to face. It can go either way, they can say whatever they want here without fear of retrobution and I would assume that you probably dont hang out in the seedy establishments that they do. I ussualy just ignore them, I dont respond or rate them. If they stay on thier side of the street, I'll stay on mine. Take care, Terry

First of all, i hope i'm not one of them! I think i'm getting desensitized to those such topics! I read some, see some such topics and i tend to think nothing of it! Not always though, some just jump out at you and get your attention! I ignore them and i won't rate negatives.
Take care Breepeace.

A lot of people in the world are attention seekers and unfortunately mylot isn't any different. They like to push buttons and they like having people mad at them. It makes them feel like they are getting attention and good or bad attention doesn't really matter to them as long as it's attention of some sort. For the most part I try not to let discussions posted by these people get to me. For the most part I just ignore them. I don't want to give them any more attention than they are getting.

I've seen lots of those posts lately, too. And, I think they're just trying to attract more visitors to their posts. Maybe to get more earnings or something. Not sure. But, nastiness is certainly not an attractive trait. Even if you're not really serious and just trying to provoke a reaction. That's just my take on the situation.
