oh i forgot tomention.. friends over the internet, well u don't have to meet them:) u just talk.. and if they r bad company... than they r just people u know, and not friends. Usualy on the internet people r honest about their problems but just that not about who they r. Try having a friend over the internet and maybe.. just maybe will save u a lot of trouble in real life, it's just an advice (u don't have to consider it)

Yes I think it´s possible, I have some internet friends from all over the world, some have helped me in some matters. It´s always good to have friends, and it´s possible here in this universal world of internet.

I met a friend over the internet, we just started going out etc. but she's a very nice girl. Her boyfriend is also very nice, and we are planning on having a double date soon :)
It happened in quite an odd way though... she had posted an add asking how the shoes in the picture she posted are called. I replied because I had the same shoes, and we kept mailing for a while. After some time we added each other on messenger, and eventually we were going to the same party. Since we were going to be there anyway, we decided to meet up.
It was scary at first, but we were both there with friends and our boyfriends and it was a whole club full of people (I wouldn't meet on the corner of the street, seems scary).
Nowadays we speak on messenger and we've been to each others homes and we have a lot of fun.
So yes, I think it can happen. If it will last a life time? I guess you have to had one for a life time to know, and the people who are 80 by now didn't have internet in their early years, LOL. Better ask that question again in another 50 years ^_^

I think its possible...i have a lot many friends over internet than in real..and two of them have been friends with me for over 2 years now and we dont feel we would lose touch at any time in our life...infact i feel internet friendship is more comfortable as people do tell things which they dont want to disclose to people in real world for fear of getting bullied!! Its really worth making friends over internet in my opinion!! But we gotta be careful in picking them too!!

It is something I personally believe is a good thing. You can talk about more, because you have less of a risk of being embarrassed. With the way it works today, even if you were you could simply block that person. So as to never have to deal with them again. I have lots of friends on the net, via different hobbies of mine. Plus different creative outlets I have over the internet. So I'm all for having friends on the net.

I`m not into these things... i usually try to keep myself away from making friends this way ... but it happens... and I`m open to it... !!! And if I happens to meet very smart blondes, with gorgeous eyes and a nice personality... how can I refuse such a friendship???

I am sure that it is possible to have long distance friends. In the old days people called it pen pals and wrote hand written or typewritten letters to people. It was common for grade school people.

Yes, I do. Some people have had pen pals who they've exchanged letters with for decades. The internet is just faster. True friendship isn't just about being face to face.

I sure do. I actually met my fiancee on myspace. The crazy part was I actually went to highschool and was friends with his two best friends. He is honestly the greatest man i have ever met in my whole life and to think i was never into meeting people online

Yes, it's possible. One of my closest friends lives in another state and we've known each other for 8 years. It's easier to maintain the friendship because we talk on the phone as well. We've never gotten around to meeting in person. I have two other close friends, one of 5 years, one of almost 2 years that I met online. I've only met one in person, but it felt no different than meeting a local person and hanging out.
