A friend of mine's discussion gave me an idea for this one. And I got curious, see I just LOVE eating hot, just out of the oven freshly baked cake, I'll burn my tongue but I just love it hot, on the other hand is the cake is cold I will loose most of my intterest. I still adore it when it's warm, and I guess that's the ideal temperature. I love it hot as the crust is nice and crispy that way as opposed to when it gets cold and therefore soft. I just love the crunchy crust, and it really makes my mouth water. I heard a lot of people tell me it's bad to eat cake wile it's warm, but I just LOVE it. What about you?

Ok I'm not weird after all! LOL. I think that's why I love brownies so much. If I'm baking just for myself, I usually turn the heat up a little bit so that the outer layer gets nice and crispy but the inside is gooey and a little underdone. And of course warm is best! If they're too cool I'll pop them in the microwave for a few seconds and I'm in heaven. As far as cake goes well, if I don't eat all the batter before it goes into the oven then I prefer it warm too.

I do like it both ways. I love hot cakes, but I find cold cakes yummy too. I actually used to eat mostly warm cakes when I was younger because my mother always baked them. Even before the mix was cooked I'd eat it. ~Joey

Same here... Except I'm to fussy with those types of cakes. Although I do like anything which my mother bakes etc, especially fresh bread but that's going off topic ;) Kudos! ~Joey

Hehehe, before it's even made, me too, I love eating the paste and liking the dish, I love the orange cake and the chocolate cake most of all, and I'll lick the dish that it's shining d: Yummy. I'm very picky, I don't eat cakes much, mostly I eat orange cake but plain orange cake only if warm, chocolate warm or hot, depends on the cake, I don't eat cakes with nuts, almonds, coconut, I'll eat birthday cake cold but it usually has to be the normal orange cake with icing and the strawberry jam inside. I've always been picky at all I eat!

Hello, PT. The only kind of cake I really like is the sinfully sweet blueberry cheesecake. I'm kind of lazy to bake my own and prefer the cold one. I have never heard that eating cake fresh out of the oven is bad. Whenever I buy stuff like brownies or butterscotch, I will ask for the newly baked one and its not very hot anymore.

I've never had blueberry cheesecake. I'm also very picky with cake though. Charms88 shouldn't a bunny like you love all cake? hehehehe... I wasn't good at baking cake but I'd make scones and eat them hot/warm too, but my oven doesn't work anymore so haven't had an oven meal like scones, cake.... in a wile now. It's an old oven so too expensive to fix and no money for a new one.

I have never baked but I can imagine the scene. In fact I can smell the cake now. * Saliva dripping * I think I prefer mine warm. Not immediately out since it would be too hot, but when it cools down a bit but still retains some heat. ;-)

I also love it warm, but I guess when it just comes out the oven I'm so tempted by that yummy smell that I have to take a byte already and get a few burns, but the good thing about cake is after a few blows it's nice and warm!

Hello,SKLC_PT,I think it depends on what type of cake I am going to eat,but anyway i will wait for some time after baking. It may be too hot to put it into my mouth if I eat it without cooling, for butter cake, i will eat it when it cools down after 5 minutes or so. For angel cake, I may need to wait until it cools down totally before you eat.

Is there a specific reason to wait for angel cake to settle. Is angel cake the same as sponge cake? Sorry I'm so used to Portuguese terms that a lot of the English ones I've forgotten already!

Yes,it means sponge cake,I think we ahve to cool it down because of the nature of the cake, but I am not sure though.

I love cake when it is still warm, too. I do try to restrain myself from eating it, but usually there is a bit that tears off when I take it out of the pan and put it on a cooling rack. That crumbly bit is fair game, as far as I am concerned.

If its a cake baked at home I like to eat it fresh out of the oven. Well, not burnign hot but as soon as it gets down to an eatable temperature. But if it is a store bought cake then i prefer it cold after it is iced.

Well, I am just the opposite. I prefer eating the cake when it is out from the fridge. I love it cold. I am not sure of the part that it's bad to eat cake when it's warm. I think it should be all right, nothing wrong with that :)

I like hot cake too but I am always afraid I will get a belly ache so I try to let it cool down a bit before I eat it. I do like it cold but it tastes so much better when it's warm or hot! :)

since i like cakes it doesnt matter to me whether they are hot or cold. but if we bake a chocolate cake i prefer it cold. because the icing doesnt melts down if it is cold. but if it is plain i prefer it oven hot. but not so hot that i burn my tongue.

Well I like my baked cake warm. I feels so good when it's in my mouth. I enjoy it both ways cold or hot. I'll enjoy it either way. But when it's warm is just feels amazingly good and soft and wow I'm in the mood for some right now. Some warm coffee cake oh yeah. I'll go bake now.

Being one that just loves cake, I'll eat it in just about any form it is given to me whether hot or cold. I do however tend to let it cool down a bit, since I have already had one to many run-ins with burning the inside of my mouth. Usually takes weeks for it to stop hurting. That made me hungry for cake now..lol

I don't like my cake hot, but I do like it warm. If it's hot I'll burn my tongue and I hate it when that happens. Cold works too, but I prefer warm.

I love cakes cold. i like warm only those which are without cream. i can never enjoy warm cake with cream , and icing, dressing over it. i like it cold , i can enjoy it with hot coffee at time. i can eat warm sponge cake or brownies. those are things which taste good when are hot or warm but cakes with loads of dressing need to be in cold to give actual taste, otherwise people like me can never eat and never ever buy cakes if they will start selling warm or hot ones.

I eat cakes when they're cold or right before puting them in the oven I mean right before putting them in the pan (or I lick the container where I prepared the cake)
