it's true right? that we need to have daily exercise to loose weight, we need to lessen our food intake and avoid some fats and cold drinks, and it's so hard..but it's easy to gain weight..just eat much, drink alcohol, and presto, after a month you already bloated..ggrrrr..but this time, i already controlled everything, the fatty food, lots of carbohydrates, lessen cold drinks and i do house chores everyday as my daily exercise, and it's working even i have already a child but still i can manage to have slim body..what about you? are you loosing weight, or gaining much weight? please share your thoughts..thanks friends..

I would disagree with you.
You can do everything just like you do now. You don't have to change your diet to lose weight. You have to INCREASE your activity.
If you are not active of course you will gain weight.

this will hold true to everyone. but since most of us have now become office workers, our activity has been lessened considerably. this is the reason why there now comes the necessity to observe diets and exercises. our young children have obesity problems, too, they are supposed to be out on the parks and our yards playing. now, they are doing lots of computer and tv games. yes, you are right. if only we could increase our physical activity, these weight problems will be practically zero for most of us. even doctors have aired this concern about people no longer having the physical activity that they must indulge in daily. aside from getting overweight, people have become sickly and with diabetes.

I weigh 145 pounds and sometimes take in 3,000 calories. However I do not eat that much during the winter when I am not doing physical work and I also gain a few pounds that I lose the 1st week I get back to work.
My favorite foods are doughnuts and ice cream. If you like cup cakes, I say eat a cupcake and do some laps around the block.
I used to work for a company that serviced several flower beds throughout the day.
We would literally eat every time we got in the truck. No one who did this gained weight. My girlfriend says its great. I can eat chocolate and what ever I want and lose weight.

This in not necessarily true for everybody. I know a number of people who has been trying to gain weight but are still as thin are a reed until now. They eat a lot and take a lot those 'fattening food' that we do our best to avoid but hola! They still remain thin as ever. I think it has to do with their metabolism no matter how much they eat.

Yes, I know that 2 of them enrolled in a health club but their weight gain is just not that significant and still look like a reed. My daughter is also very thin and eats like grown up truck driver. Starting this summer, my daughter exercises everyday by spending at least 4 hours a day doing her gymnastics routine but she still has not gained any weight. She has food supplements and all those vitamins to help her gain weight but she still remains the same.

LOL! I am at difficulty gaining weight!. I lose it easily than I can gain it. shouldn't we just exchange the characteristics. you lose weight and I gain, we will reach a balance. It's always important to participate in physical rigorous activity, your calories will burn at a rate you won't be expecting. it's better that this activity be a game otherwise you will get bored!!hahaha!then again you will gain.

It doesn't apply to everyone, like me. I'm slim and eat as much as everyone does but would not get fat. It's a lot easier for me to lose weight. I could just skip a meal in a couple of days and I'll drop my weight. But even when I eat a lot of fatty foods, not exercise and get lot's of sleep, my weight will remain as is. I just couldn't get fat.

In my work I often help people with weight problem and what I've discovered, through my client's experiences is that we are all different and require different types of foods. And it is a way of eating that will sustain the correct weight for your height and build, , good health and vitality that needs to be found. Then it becomes not a diet that comes and goes, but a permanent way of eating.
As a hypnotherpist, I also help others to accept themselves the way they are, for if they cannot do that, there will always be an element of self-deprecation that can lead to vicious circles of gaining and losing weight. Also there may be times when a person will slip up and eat incorrectly. He/she would then need to forgive himself/herself and not sit around feeling disappointed in himself/herself or an attitude of "well I failed now, so I might as well go back to eating anything" can manifest.
The same with exercise. One needs to do it regularly, but on days when there's a feeling of "I can't be bothered" and it's not done, there needs to be forgiveness of self and the next day continue with it.
I feel that it's better not to watch the scales or reflection in the mirror, but go on the way you feel. Some days one may feel bloated, accept that that's the way it is. Other days one may feel extremely slim and animated. Accept that too. The scales may something else though in both cases.
I am of an age where my metabolism has slowed down, and total acceptance of this gives me peace of mind. I take exercise, and go to the gym for fitness and the way I feel. My family love me for who I am and my life has not been about seeking approval for a long time. I have a body, but I am not my body.. :-)

it's true, that we need to accept what even changes in our body, specially when we are in the stage that it's hard for us to maintain our body the way we wanted..but it's fine as long as were healthy not only physically but spiritually..thanks..

The last two weeks have been HORRIBLE! It's been AF's visiting time and i've eaten so much chocolate that it's ridiculous! I've thrown my three weeks of hard work out the window. But i've decided to stop pigging out and start changing my eating habits, even with AF is in town. What works for me is cutting carbs and staying with lots of proteins, so that's what i'm starting. I lost weight even without exercising last time i really changed the way I ate. So now that i'm active I should lose more weight.

I don't know why, but sometimes even when I try to control my diet, i still cannot lose weight. But since last year, I just gave up. I eat what I wanna eat, and do things I that I enjoy doing.
Now, I weight only 52 Kg, which is not too bad for a 162cm tall girl.
So, be patient and accept yourself. Probably some majic will happen to you too.

Oh its true and I am an example of that LOL It is harder to lose weight and easy to put on. I am trying to cut down on foods and exercise and even though i was motivated at the start, I am so lacking motivation right now LOL. My goal is to lose another 40 pounds to get down to my ideal weight and hope to maintain it for as long as I can LOL. I have a wedding to go to in the Cook Islands i.e. Rarotonga so I don't want to be looking like a big slob on a tropical island, so I am trying to lose as much as I can before then.

This would highly reflect our lifestyle and the way we manage the food we eat. Of cousre if you want to maintain your weight you would really exert a lot of effeorts while in eating you dont exert any energy but enjoy the pleasures of it.

Oh, that's so true for me. Eating too much of my favourite chocolates would just add to my expanding girth. Especially if I don't exercise.
The only way I can control my weight effectively is through a diet and exercise programme. This has to be strictly adhered to for maximum results. Having one without the other doesn't help me at all, unfortunately.
I think it just gets worse as one ages.

Yep it is easy to pack on those pounds but very hard to get them off. If you want it bad enough and don't expect to lose it over night then its not too hard. I lost 15 lbs in 3 months just watching my calories and kept it off until I got pregnant. When I tried the Atkins diet I also lost 15 lbs but as soon as I took myself off the diet I gained it all back. We pretty much just changed the way we ate and it helped alot. We rarely have soft drinks. Its mostly when we go to eat at fast food places which is pretty rare now. We drink lots of water. We changed to low fat milk, mayo things like that. When we wanted something like chips instead of getting the whole bag we read the label and eat what we are allowed. That way if we wanted anymore we would have to get up and walk to get it. Alot of people make the mistake of taking the whole bag of chips and eating in front of the tv.
