Friendship is more important than coloured stars

Whilst I'm NOT disrespecting people when their stars go down, but when it comes down to it MYLOT is about making friends, not what stars or points you have, or what money if any nowadays you earn.
Yes, I did leave the site for while, mainly because of my depression and I certainly don't put in the time I used to, but the ONLY reason I returned is NOT because of my star, I don't care if I'm a 4, 5 or 9 star, I don't care what points or money I get each day which is irrelevant
FRIENDSHIP is platignum and worth a million times more than stars. Yes we get angry and frustrated at this site at times but we are quick to forget that this site provides us with FRIENDS
Without my friends on Mylot I think I would have given up, truly, so thanks to my friends you know who you are and to other happy Mylotters
You are NOT here to be RICH, the only RICHES you'll get is making FRIENDS and that is worth more than an inane blue or red star surely?

I agree with you Wolfie. Friendship is what keeps this site going on the whole. You can become frustrated with the odd person, but you know your friends are always there to listen, support and encourage, so you don't leave, you take time out and come back to the place where your largest group of friends are congregated.
I made a lot of friends in Pogo chat rooms, which is an unpaid site to British people, but I loved to go in there and meet up with them in the evening for a relaxing game before I went to bed. The same goes for Mylot... since I joined, six months ago, I have made some really special friends in here. Friends that will support, encourage and cheer you at every turn. They are always there for you and they are the most valuable asset a person can ever have in life.
Stars fluctuate, friends stay at 10 in my book. What more is there to say? :-)

Yes Wolfie, friends are the most important part. I have been gone for a few days and I haven't even received a message or email from anyone of my friends here. Saying "I miss you or hurry back or anything". I do love my star and would hate to lose it. I am feeling kinda lonely now lol.

Oh snow sweetie I am sorry you felt as though you were abandoned! I noticed you hadn't been here but remembered you saying with the new job and things you wouldn't be able to get here as much - didn't want to harass you ! Hope you realise that your friends do care! xxx

When I joined this site at first I thought it was a good way of making money ,
i then started to make friends and the friendships became more important , lets be honest here lol we will never be millionaires o My Lot .
with all the hassle that there has been lately with discussions being deleted most of us would have given it up , but like me we didn't want to loose touch with our friends , I remember the day I sent you a PM pal and asked if your name was Brian and I was all excited when you said it was you ,
you have been my friend for a few years now pal and that means an awful lot to me . i think it so strange sometimes that we worry so much about people we have never met and we can feel so close to them too , feel sad when they are sad and happy when they are happy , And I thank God for my My Lot friends xx

I for one do not understand the coloured stars .. I take no notice of them .. and as far as I know .. on the odd occasions I have got curious enough to check mine it has always been at the same mark ..
Although MyLot do pay a reasonable amount of pin money and I did at first come here only for the money .. I soon discovered I was more interested in hearing how folk were getting on .. my friends family has stayed fairly constant over the months .. and little by little you grow more comfortable with who folks are and understand the way they write ..
It was all getting really good fun and happy families .. and then MyLot flippin' waded in heavy handed and started deleting discussions right left and centre ..
I did consider not coming back .. but I kept wondering how folks are .. so now I just potter among my friends discussions answering a few here and there .. but by and large MyLot have completely spoilt a good thing .. and it's only friends that draw me back ...

If you are not honest when posting because you are worried about stars, its not real. Its more important to speak the truth as you know it or believe it to be then to worry about who you impress or how your star rating iis going. You are right , what good is a star opposed to your friendships? and what good is posting if you arent being real about it. Great post and great point , as we have come to expect from you....

People are worried about how they respond and will often follow the 'crowd' to make sure their response is not deemed controversial or argumentative, in fear of having their response pulled or worse negative rated, I think the site sadly doesn't allow us to be truly honest and rather than voice our own opinion we will dilute it to avoid offending others and getting downgraded, sad but oh so true.

Wolfie you know i do get disappointed when my star ratings go down because i do work hard to do my best with my discussions and responses to be a real part of the mylot team. But you are right the money and the stars really dont mean nothing the biggest riches are the friendships we have here. My friends on here have done so much for me just by responding and supporting me in my times of need. Also a great many of the discussions posted by everyone on mylot have opened my eyes in ways that i was blind before like this discussion has done. This discussion showed me how rich i really am and not in the way of money either. Thanks for the discussion Wolfie you are a very dear friend too me as well as the rest of my mylot friends.

I agree with you that people should not base their whole mylot existence on their stars, i mean if you are here for the money, it doesn't affect your earnings and if you are here for the enjoyment of making friends and having good discussions then it shouldnt worry you anyway. Stop complaining people! Lol

I don't care a bout the stars, but in the back of my head I don't like that I have a 8 I don't know why my star doesn't go up. In the begining we didn't have the star rating, I think I give quality topics here.

Actually, I haven't had the time to be here much lately. I think this is the first time on for me in a couple weeks and what am I doing? Checking up on my friends, of course. I couldn't agree with you more. Mylot is about firends first and foremost. They are what tie us to this site.

Your right!
When I first got my rating I was a yellow 7 and one time I came across one of the first blue 10. (I honestly don't know how they managed it) Very rude person..
Since then I stopped caring about it and only wanted friends who share themselves like I would try to do myself.
I like being a blue star but it's not important.
~Joey
My friends mean the world to me and I'd be the first to swap my star or go an extra mile to show support :)

Hello, wolfie,I agree with you 100%. I enjoy in mylot not because of the low earning,it will not make a huge difference whether i can earn 20 dollars a month or not,but what i gain is invaluable,i meet a lot of good friends to share opinions here,it is unavoidable that we may not be happy with mylot sometimes or even in real life, the important thing is we get the support from our friends,we will be able to get over it.
Although i try to keep a good rating, but i will be happier if i meet more friends here.

I believe stars are about what other people think of people on here. They in no way reflect what I think of the people I meet day to day at the lot. I have found so many good friends here, and I hope to continue to for a long time. Winters are often not good for me, but this year bubbled up with wonderful myLot discussions and friends. I like stars, I like them hanging on my Christmas tree, not around someone's neck to make them feel less worthy. Wolfie, I really like this post.

You are totally right, Brian. myLot is not about earnings and stars. It's about friendship and voiving your opinions. i think people lose sight of that. i know i do at times when i inexplicably lose some of my star. i don't care what the rating is, but when it goes down for no reason whatsoever, it bothers me. However, i always have ot think to myself, i have friends on here (including my best friend) and i get to voice my opinion.

yeah, guess we are all forgetting what is truly important. it's true, friendship is a lot more important than money or fame.. it's true for my lot, but it doesnt end there.. sometimes, when we want more, we forget that we are already stepping on other people and made them feel bad.. but we should always remember that there is more to life than money and getting the nice star, or fame..because these things are all passing, but the friendship, the deep friendship that we have gained with our fellow mylotters can last..maybe forever, maybe not..but it will be something happy and worthwhile!:)

i agree that i am here in MYLOT not to earn money and get rich. i am here to show the real me and blend with other people. first, i registered in MYLOT to earn money. then later on, i realize that MYLOT is not about money, it's about friends, meeting new friends. I am also looking for people like me..
