I am just curious as to which Christian denominations are represented here at myLot.
So please tell me what your demonination is (examples- Catholic, Methodist, etc). Also tell me if this is something you came to or were raised in.
I guess they would classify me as a pentecostal born again Christian simply cause I tend to choose to go to(I don't consider myself any denomination personally).
I was raised as Roman Catholic and came to be born again.
What about you?

I am active in the Methodist Church. I was raised in the Disciples of Christ, Christian Church, but there aren't very many of those anymore. My little country church in more like a Baptist church than Methodist in the way they do a lot of things.

I was born and baptized in a Basel Mission Church. That is a Protestant Church which has its roots in Germany. I am still a member of this church. I see several changes coming in so you could say the church is quite liberal.

I was raised Roman Catholic and then during my college years started attending protestant churches. I seemed to lean toward free evangelical and lutheran. Now that I'm older I'm back to my roots and very much am again practicing my faith. I appreciate it so much more now than I did as a child. I guess because I understand it better and I've gotten wiser too!

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints (also known as LDS or Mormons). I was not raised within a particular faith but spent many years looking. I was sent to several vacation Bible schools growing up and attended several different churches. In high school, I chose to attend a Catholic school. By the time I got to college, I had no clue what I was looking for. During my second semester, I met a friend who introduced me to the LDS church. It was then that I began to truly know Christ and decided to be baptized.

I was baptised when I was 4, I think, but not sure what in...maybe presbyterian. I was raised mostly in the Lutheran church. My greatest childhood memory is of my dad sitting and reading the Bible a lot. Anyway, I married a Baptist and we had a hard time finding a church both of us could live with. That, and work schedules kept us out of church for many years until I began feeling the lack. I started going again to a Lutheran church and began growing in my faith and in seeking a closer relationship with God. Our pastor took a call to another church leaving us without one. I was invited to sing in the church choir of a Catholic church and thought..that's not much different...and went. Immediately I loved the music, the liturgy and the beauty of the mass. I was awed by the reverence and worship offered to God and wanted to learn more. I felt like I had come home. I took instruction and joined the Catholic church in 1990 and have never looked back! I also met a convent of Charismatic nuns, so I was baptised in the Holy Spirit also. So...I I'm a charismatic Catholic. LOL. Non-conventional, to be sure!

I don't have a denomination that I belong to. I consider myself Christian and I follow the teachings of Jesus, but I go about on my own and I don't belong to any church either.

I am non denominational because I feel in heaven thier is no religion .Everyone is the same and are going for the same purpose to be with Jesus. So I feel that even thought thier are relgion names in heaven thier will not.But that is my opinion. No offense meant by it.But we are thinking about joining a Assembly of God church which is Pentecostal. But I will still be a non denomination religion.

I came to Christ about seven years ago, and this happened to be in a pentecostal denomination linked to God's Assemblies. Because of the great admiration I have for my outstanding pastor, the excellent relation with the ministry and the social engagement of my community, I wouldn't think of moving. Nevertheless, my own conception of the Church of Christ, and some doctrines, are very much nearer to those teached and practiced by anabaptists like the mennonites.
Being Christian starts with being born again, but only in fellowship can we live what Christ asks from us: Love your brother. And it needs the example of a new born society in order to give testimony to the world. You can't be Christian alone!
