Some movies are serious, designed to make the audience think. Other movies designed primarily to amuse and entertain. Which type of movie do you prefer?why?

Both movies are necessary, as sometimes you just want to be entertained, on others get an emotional connection with not only the characters but with the movie as well. The best is to get both, those are truely great films. They are rare but when it works they are amazing, to cry and laugh and come away with having learnt something new, that is cinema at it's prime.

I couldn't agree more with your statement here. This is something I feel that the movie makers are getting away from. Unfortunately, I believe the height of this kind of movie making was the old classicals that are becoming so much harder to find.

Honestly we need both types, you can't just watch one type all the time. I prefer the first type. They somehow relax me i feel fulfilled. I mean this is sorta enterainment as well. I guess movies which make you think, broadens your mind and they have some deep theme in them. So it is entertainment and learning as well.

well,we all have our own likes..i also like both..but if i'm tired and want to watch movies at home,i'd prefer the second type..hehehe

well there is absolutely n specific genre of whose movies i like. but yeah there are some kind of movies which i do like. particularly i like action drama comdy and emotions in a movie. my favourite ones being titanic,sholay,dhoom2,krrish,koi mil gaya. they movies are really great and are really very entertaining

Titanic movie is one of the best movie i've ever watched. But i don't know about the rest,but i'm pretty sure those are also a great movies. I'll try to look for that ones. Thanks
