Here in our Country starting by this month of May until the next 3 more months is more likely we're expecting rains more often and so. What I don't like about it is that I am scared enough to hear sudden thunderstorms or lightning from the sky above. Aren't you scared about such things like that? or it's just being a normal thing to you when it comes to it? For me personally, it's not really that i'm too scared about the said thing but just get to make me awake more when sudden lightning or thunderstorm begins, :-)

I don't like it when it's raining really hard then there will be a lightning nearby..it's just that I heard of some rumors that it will really kill.

i don't think it's just rumors. it really can kill especially the lighting. it can strike at a house and might put it on fire and kill people. it does happen... but rarely though and i hate the thought of it.

Actually i love thunderstorms and lightnings. I hate their effects sometimes, when there are electric storms that destroy goods. But from a visual point of view it's amazing, i love it, and the sound they make, making the ground shake...wow, powerful.

We're having one as I write this - it's not close to my home though - you can tell by how loud it is. I don't mind them as long as I'm not driving. I'm lucky because even my dogs don't mind them. I know of other dogs that need valium every storm!

in summer we have a lot of thunder storm that can be really really loud and yes a bit scary but you kinda get used to it i suppose, but i do hate really really loud thunder, the kind that shakes the house, that always freaks me out!

There are not a lot of thunderstorms and lightnings here. so everytime there were, children would get very excited. I heard many stories about lightning's striking people.but it has never happened around me. so I am not scared at all.

I love storms, so i love thunders and lightnings...i am not scared at all by them. I admire the power that they have, mighty nature in action. I hate dry places, i prefer rains and thunder!

I HATE thunder and lightning. Its the ONE thing I am truly afraid of. So much that even if its just HARD rain I think it might thunder I literally shake in my bed and have to sleep with the light on. I also keep a cd on not the radio because the radio gives weather reports which are freaky. In our new house its hard to sleep alone I used to sleep with my sister so rain is EXTRA freaky! At least I dont sleep with the main light but a side light so it doesnt mess up my sleep patterns.

Thanks for sharing monkeywriter. You are just like me, we have so much similarity when it comes of getting scared of some lightning and thunders :-) but I guess, it's just only but a normal feeling to get nervous when sudden bigbang smashes somewhere. :-)

I don't like thunderstorms either. You are right that lightneing can kill but it is rare to be struck by lightening. When my children where little I had to pretend I didn't mind so they wouldn't be scared and they love watching storms now.

Thanks for sharing beaniegdi, yeah it's not really easy to conquer our fears when it comes to this...it truly takes time and for the sake of our loved ones we tend to be more relax and calm in order for them to be more responsible and strong enough to face life instead of showing them our own cowardness, we should rather show them the brave side in us. :-)

Hello Nardz13, thanks for sharing. That's really awesome how you put more concern to your children and yeah I guess, since you have the experienced already about what thunderstorms and lightening may cause, then you can now be more extra careful towards your own children. :-)

I used to be scared of thunderstorms/lighning when I lived in the south cities ,but now I has less chance to get such stuffs when I am now living the northern city.
I usually have a good asleep at night,it is difficult for thunderstorms to awake me up when I am sleeping. I think ,as I grows older, such things can not scare me any more. Perhaps I because more brave than before. Maybe it is the reason, who know:)

No I'm not scared of thunderstorms or lightning. I'm not foolish enough to be outside when there's lightning though! It's a little scarey to be woke up in the middle of the night from thunder and lightning, but that's about it. If it's really noisy, sometimes I'll get up and turn on the tv to see what the radar shows about how big or severe the storms are.

No, I'm not scared or afraid of thunder and lightning...after all they can't hurt me. If a really loud clap of thunder comes suddenly, unexpectedly out of the blue I might get a fright. If it's hailing balls of ice as big as golf balls it's a bit scary and I go and sit in a cupboard with my animals. If I'm driving to work in outer city suburban traffic and there is a storm raging with blinding rain and gale force wind and cars stopping for no reason and there is reduced visibility...that's scary.
Just the sound of thunder and lightning gives me the hope that it just might rain in this drought stricken land of ours.
