My kind of thinker. If we had money like we used to it might me ok to treat them but people dont seem to appreciate things anmore. Plus I am part Scotish, cheaP!

No, I would not meet them, I find sometimes it is best just to keep the relationship the way it started online, if they were true friends, they would not put you in a position to worry about money.

I tend to agree with you. Especially since we barely have enough money to fee our self. But my husband would like to meet his poker buddy. His buddy's mother in law lives here in Houston and the buddy is moving to Alabama so he will be here anyway.

Nothing wrong with inviting the guy to your house and being friendly, but going out and buying him dinner is another thing.

I would certainly want to get together and meet an online friend if they were in my area. You could always meet for lunch rather than dinner, and it wouldn't need to be an expensive place. Take them to your home for a meal and a visit or even make a picnic and enjoy a local park.

Lunch sounds good. We would have a hard time paying for their food. Maybe we could each pay their own? Would that be bad taste?
