Well I did go back to my doctor today, I had a lot more symptoms arise like cramping in my upper abdomen, slight swelling in my hands, arms and face, and vomiting throughout today. They thought everything might be fine just looking at me as far as heart rate of the baby and whatnot. I almost thought they'd tell me nothing to worry about and send me home. HOWEVER, my urine sample that I gave came back with high amounts of protein and sugar in it. I found out that they didnt totally rule out Gestational Diabetes but that I was borderline GD. Now I have to do a 24 hour urine test and not have anything to drink but milk and water!!! Cut back on any sugary foods and drinks, and wait to see the results of the 24 hour test. When I asked my doctor what would happen if these new results come back with protien and sugar in them, he told me they'd run more lab tests before anything else but that he's pretty much ruling out Pre-eclampsia all because my blood pressure is a "normal" level. I can't get a second opinion around here because all the specialists tell me they must first have approval from MY DOCTOR before even talking to me!!! Which is only more frustrating. I again was told that all my other symptoms were normal pregnancy pains and that Tylenol would help aleviate the pain....which it hasn't at all....I just haven't got a clue as to what to do now and what will acutally happen if the results still come back the same as they did today!

well if it is gestational diabetes its not a huge thing you just have to watch your sugar intake so the baby doesn't get too big to deliver naturally. I had it with my second child and she actually came out at 7lbs. The symptoms you were decribing sound like toximia which is really bad. I was told that when pregnant women get it it means your body is rejecting the fetus so they have to take the baby out early or it could die. I would ask the doctor to check for it. I was told that you don't always have to have high blood pressure to have toximia. I hope they get it figured out for you sweety. Good Luck

well my doctor said my girl was already 10 lbs when I was 8 months along so don't put too much faith in what the doctor tells you about the weight. And I am sorry if I worried you more that was not my intention sweety just talk to your doctor ok and push for the test if need be.

I'm glad they finally paid attention to you. They should have told you earlier if they thought you were borderline GD so maybe you could have taken some kind of preventative measures. I hope everything goes ok for you tomorrow. Maybe they'll induce you since you're getting close and at 8 lbs the baby should be big enough to survive on its own. Good luck!

Oh my, I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. It does sound like you may have something else going on. Do you get your other results tomorrow? You take care of yourself and get your hubby to wait on you. Put your feet up and try to get some rest and stay relaxed. Stressing out will just make your blood pressure go up.
