I dont really make or get regular hair cuts because when I get one and I am not satisfied I tend to cut it again and agian until its too short thats why I try to schedule my hair cuts once in six months so that I only have twice the agony in a year. I dont know maybe Im just too detailed when it comes to my hair and I am not comfortable when its not what I wanted the cut to be.
What about you mylotters? Are you like me when it comes to hair cut and hair styles.?
Take care!

i am like you, if ever i get a hair cut it is most likely that i will not be satisfied of the outcome. it really is a agony that i come out of a salon feeling bad because they didnt get the style i wanted. the last time i went to the salon and i wanted to have ellen degeneres haristyle but i went out of the salon feeling angry because the cutter didnt know who ellen was and informed me she dont know who ellen was after cutting my hair. it was really frustrating. now its quite long already because that was 6 months ago. am i planning to get a hair cut again i think so yes but still planning where salon to got to.

I don't have a regular schedule for a hair cut. But I make it a point that my mother don't grow her hair long, I accompany her most of the time to the parlor.
I too have the tendency to cut and cut whenever I don't like it or whenever I become addicted with hair cutting. LOL. But I don't really do it because I don't like how I look or my hair, it has something to do with my tight budget.
For about 5 years I had a long hair grown, until I decided to cut it the shortest for summer. Just in time I got the shortest hair I could ever had. The last time I have a short hair was when I started my job in my present occupation.
Having a short have saves me money and time too. I think now I prefer to have a short hair since I have no choice. LOL.

I also hate looking at my mother with very long hair, I want her to look smart and pretty always thats why I remind her when it looks a litttle bit messy.
I also remeber the shortest hair cut I had. It was when the hated presidential candidate ERAP won the elections, I hated him for winning the elections that I decided to cut my hair really short as a form of rebellion. My mother was really shocked when she saw me with a very short hair. I never regretted it coz I have told myself that if this person would win I would really cut my hair very short. It was a funny story but I did it.

I will call that electioneering hang-over my friend. LOL. You are very political in this manner of having a protest.
Its nice to have older women putting up will shorter hair. For me they somehow hides their gray hair when it is shorten. This is my observation.
I also observed this with my father's hair. When it grow longer, it reveals more gray hair. But everytime my father have a new haircut, I see less gray hairs. LOL. Am I color blind when I see short hairs? Hehehe, what's your observation?

Which reminds me, I need to get one too?. I can't remember when was the last time I had my haircut done?. ( but it's true! )LOL! I do feel the same way friend when it comes to not being satisfied with the way it is cut, I'd end up cutting it again in a saloon until I get satisfied with how it looks. Too late though because my hair will be too short by then! ;)

Around two years ago I was like you when it comes to haircut and hairstyles... Once, I showed a picture of a Japanese rockstar to my hairstylist and the hairstylist didn't follow it. [She wasn't my usual hairstylist. :'( But that time I was too desperate for a haircut. *sigh*]
Anyway, the girl who cut my hair just had a glance of the picture, assuming that she was able to cut my hair to something similar to that. The next thing I know, the haircut which I had in mind was completely different. I was pissed at her and I was extremely upset at my hair.
So after my hair grew again, I had another haircut and this time it was with my usual hairstylist. She's fabulous with details, I must admit but sometimes things can't go my way... After having the haircut, I went home and fixed it myself. .__.;;
And now. I've come to a conclusion that I can actually cut my own hair. Since April 2007, I've been cutting my own hair cos' : 1)I wanted to save myself from getting nagged by my mom on the price of my haircut and 2) I wanted to make sure my hair gets the type of hairstyle which I want. I'm my own hairstylist so I'm held responsible for my own hair. XD;; Luckily I am able to visualize my haircut and stuffs. [I also sketch it before cutting it.]
I can have my haircut at anytime I want as long as I don't feel lazy to cut it. :D I know, it's really risky to cut your own hair but, hey, I'm confident of myself and as long as I don't think negative whilst cutting my own hair, my hair cut will be a-okay.

Yes, thats always the case when it comes to hairstyles, im really particular with it and wont really go immediately to cut it. Sometimes when I see my hair in disarray I just take a bath and forget about it. Less hair cuts measn savings and I want to save my money and my emotions. So as much as possible I dont do it really often.
Have a nice day and take care.

I try to get it cut about every three months. I get complaints from people I know when I go longer than that. I guess the ends get really split or something. I'm with you about not being satisfied every time I have it cut. I have really thick, slightly wavy hair with a cowlick that doesn't want to lay right. So, if you don't cut it the right away, it doesn't look right. Once in a while, I will get a good stylist and she will cut it right. Then, she will move on to another place that I can't afford and someone else would have to cut it.

Well, when hair is too long its not anymore advisable to look at coz it looks uhealthy and with all the split ends and the like. For me the six months period is reasonable enough and its also enough to not make me more stressful, coz the more frequent i make a haircut, the more stressfull it is for me.

My hair is long and I want it to be as long as it can be. I get my hair trimmed like every 2 months to keep it looking healthy.

Hmm...we are pretty much the same when it comes to hair cut, except that I can't remember when the last time I cut my hair. I think it was quite long time ago. I'm quite picky with person that going to cut my hair, as it is often didn't turn out the way I wanted to be. I have to see the result to other people before I decided to have my hair cut....

i do cut my hair every two weeks, as a man when the hair is bushy, it makes me to look urgly and untidy.

Well, i agree with you, men have fast growing hair and if not taken care for they would look not so desirable, at least on your part you try to maintain good looks by having regular hair cuts.
Have a nice day and take care.

Get ready for a dumb story. lol
I have been getting my hair cut from the same lady since I was in junior high. And I'm almost 30. Sad, I know. But I moved away from where she was in '99 (about a 45 minute drive) and I figured it was time to find a new stylist somewhere around my new neighborhood. I found someone who was apparently a stylist for at least a couple of decades, and I had heard they were good and well respected in the area. PFF. I had REALLY long hair and I wanted layers added so it wasn't so heavy. MISTAKE. I had layers on one side that lay to my ear and the other side with layers that came only to my neck. It was a massacre.
So, I invested in the drive back "home" and had MY stylist fix it. And since, I have never strayed from her.
BUT NOW, I live TWO HOURS from her. I have had two haircuts in two years. SAD. But when I can't take it anymore, there I go....I put up with the horrible gas prices and make the trip back home, making sure I make the most of my trip by eating at my favorite back-home restaurant or visiting friends.
It's really not that bad. I just now have a deep phobia about trying someplace new.

Most of the time men dont like long hair, but there are also men who like long hair and they find it easy to manage since they just tie it, but most of the men I know like short hair specially now that its summer.

well according to hindu dharma hair cutting is an inauspicious occassion but living with the present geneartion and trends hair cuts have become inevitable.if u got out with a clumsy hair it reflects as a bad habit or shows ur character...i don have any fixed duration.last yr i had grown hair for alomost 15 months and cut it only after my principal suspended me for 3 days from college. now i work in mnc so have to be regular in hair cuts...

Well, for girls its ok not to have regular hair cut since most o us women grow our hair long, but for men, its not so good to see them with long hair, it seems that they dont look corporate if they ahve long hair. And as for me I prefer a guy with neat hair cut than guys with long hair.

I like my hair long and I would get a trim once in awhile and not a full hair cut at all.

Hello, zelmarq,i do not go to the salon to have haircut and i do not need to cut by myself.I have a friend who is studying hairdressing course in a college, when i need to have a haircut, i will ask her whether i can be her 'model' as she always need to have more practice.I am just an experient for her assignments.I will have haircut once a month or so.Hairstyle is not a problem for me as i do not always change it.

Wow thats good for you my friend, I wish I could also have a friend and have haircut with great hairstyle. The problem with me when it comes to hair style is that I am not so inclined with the new ones and I dont sem to be very comfortable with the not so my type styles.

Getting a haircut depends on the comfort-level. Summer seasons invariably increase the frequency, as even medium-sized hair length becomes difficult to bear in the heat. Winter is about the reverse case, when long hair is palatable. As i dont like to keep too long a hair, my average rate is around a cut per 90days.

Yes, thats why last summer I have always stopped myself from looking in the mirror very often coz the weather might fool me into cutting it short and then regret it in the end.

atleast a week before summer time (march), coz after my hair cut, i am not satisfied with it. But after a week i began to notice that i like it's style ..so i scheduled my haircut atleast 2 weeks or a week before summertime so when our scheduled swimming with my friends, i feel comfortable with it coz i know i will not be teased...

I have noticed with men's hair cut is that it looks awkward on the first weeks after they cut it and it would take a few days for it to look just fine just like when my boyfriend gets haircut I always tease him coz the cut is like that of a soldier.
