Some people say they taste like cardboard. They fill you up and have less calories than other snacks. They now come in a variety of flavors. Do you enjoy eating rice cakes? Do you like them or do you just eat them because they are less fattening? If you do like them, what is your favorite kind?

Yes, I eat rice cakes. The flavored mini cakes are good and low fat. I like the apple cinnamon and caramel flavored. The bbq flavored aren't too bad. I would prefer a nice crunchy corn or potato chip to tell you the truth but they are so fattening and loaded with calories. So, yes, I guess I eat them not because I want to, but because they are a healthier choice. Still, if you buy the flavored ones, they are tolerable.

I haven't had rice cakes in years. I did try an apple cinnamon type which wasn't bad but usually they need to be slathered in PB and/or jam. I had genisoy soy crisps somewhat recently which were very similar to rice cakes and come in some tasty flavors including onion/garlic, BBQ, and apple cinnamon.

You know, before i was a diabetic, i enjoyed rice cakes. Now that i AM a diabetic, i really cannot have them. They are too loaded in carbohyfrates and are made out of white rice. White rice is terrible for diabetics. It's really not good for anyone, but especially bad for people with diabetes.

I didn't realize that rice is bad for you? It is such a common stable in cuban cooking as well as Chinese. I understand about the diabetes, but why is it bad for everyone else?

Hey
Rice cakes are ok. I am always trying something and going back with low fat foods .
Some rice cakes are actually good , and some have no taste at all . They have these mini chedder ones for about 10 small ones it is 70 cals and they taste good . I had a sweet tooth yesterday and got the big jumbo chocolate flavored ones and they were ok with a glass of milk , but the only thing is sometimes they leave me wanted more.

Yes! we do like to eat rice cakes as well as popcorn cakes. But, anymore it is difficult to find the plain ones. While I like all the savory flavored cakes such as white cheddar and nacho etc. I like the plain ones spread with pbutter, or for use as a bread substitute for sandwiches (less calories/fat/carbs)
my kids of course like the sweet varieties but I can not tolerate them.

I love rice cakes though I haven't had any in a while. I like the mini ones also that come in a bag like a bag of chips. The cheddar cheese ones have to be my favorite!

I like rice cakes, plain ones. I like them from young, when I do not know what calories are, and if they are fattening or healthy food. I like them because we used to eat it with a type of dried radish as garnish.

I'm not a big rice cake eater, but every once in a while I get a craving for them, so we get them. Some flavors do taste like cardboard, although I never tried cardboard =), but others are pretty good and I really enjoy them. When we get some at the store, we usually get the caramel ones..they're really tasty.

MY 13yo son LOVES them. He has them all the time. They can fill you up very fast though so I try not to let him eat alot of them even though they are great for you. My husband will eat them but not as often. We also buy the corn thins....same as the rice cakes but made out of puffed corn and flattened into the same shapes as rice cakes. They taste so great as well.

I love the cheese flavored ones. I also like the caramel corn flavored ones. I'm not a big fan of plain ones, but the flavored ones tend to be really good. My son really loves the cheese ones as well, which is nice since his favorite chips are Doritos and I'd rather he have rice cakes (though he does get Doritos every now and then).

I love rice cakes. I really do, and people always look at me like I'm retarded while I'm eating them, but I absolutely love rice cakes. Maybe I loved cardboard when I was little, I don't know, but I love rice cakes.

Rice cakes are one of the nastiest foods I've ever eaten .. once you bite into the cake it sticks all round your mouth and teeth ... it's only with the greatest difficulty you can even get it chewed .. never mind swallowed ..
I would happily go hungry rather than tackle one of those again ... bet they'd make great packing for fragile items though .. they have the same texture and consistency as expanded polystyrene .. hmm .. in fact .. they could be expanded polystyrene

Yes! I love rice cakes. I am especially fond of the Quaker cinnamon rice cakes. When I am starving between meals I will break a rice cake into pieces and eat it. Sometimes, if I know it is going to be a while before I eat, I will spread just a little peanut butter on teh rice cake for some protein to take me to the next meal.

I eat rice cakes occasionally. Some of the plain ones do taste alot like paper or cardboard. I like to buy the ones that have flavor added to them. They are alot more healthier than snack cakes. I only enjoy eating them if I am dieting. I like the cinnamon rice cakes the best. I think they have the best flavor.

I LOVE rice cakes. I don't normally get the flavoured ones, as they aren't as low fat. I have them with low-fat cheese spread! They don't taste like cardboard to me at all, they taste like rice. x
